Ok - we cannot agree on a boy's name so thought i would see what you good people could come up with!

We have a one syllabull surname which is a boy's name in itself. I like quite traditional names but with a twist of originality???!!!!

Our surname begins with L (i like Liam but it really doesnt go with our surname)

Anyway, please find me the perfect name !!!

TIA XX

I called our son Reuben - pretty ancient and means "to see the first son". Would that go with your surname?

Mandymoo · 16/11/2005 12:43

er.... Rueben...... actually that sounds quite nice with our surname!

Oooh I second Reuben. My sister had the same problem as you (surname Grant). They called their son Reuben.

I quite like Charlie, Nathan, Nicholas, Thomas and Reuben - but none of them "grab" me as such. Does anyone like Noah?

er..... not keen on Oscar. Nathaniel is quite nice but our surname begins with L so it might be a bit of a mouthful to have a name ending with the same letter as surname - or am i being a bit too sad???!!

Jersey, my sons are called Josph and David!

pussycatmomma · 16/11/2005 21:17

mandymoo - love Noah and Oscar. Felix and Oscar are my two faves so far here. I love the name Charlie, but my 10yr old pusscat is called Charlie and to me its more ginger tomcat than small child! What is it that sadie frosts eldest is called....Rafferty? something like that . i like unusual names...

RainbowWalker · 16/11/2005 21:20

my boys are:
Jack
Edward
Richard

known as Jack, Ed and Rich

dexter · 17/11/2005 14:47

how about Louis (not pronounced lewis but Loo-ey as it should be!)

dexter · 17/11/2005 14:52

meant to say, I like surnames and first names beginning with the same letter, think it sounds memorable! noticed madonna has done this with her kids - lourdes leon and rocco ritchie.

However having read thread if your surname is Luke then maybe Louis just sounds to similar.
I like like like Gabriel. Lovely manly but intelligent sounding name.

sweetkitty · 17/11/2005 14:55

If we ever have a boy he would be called Elliot David
