Hi
Just found out that I am pregnant. This will be my second.
I was planning on a 2-3 year gap but due to a contraception mishap I will be due next Jan and my LO is only 6 months ATM. He will only be 14 month old when the second is due.
I am a little worried about how to manage a small toddler and a newborn at the same time, does anyone in a similar situation have any advice to settle my nerves?

DS is 15 months older than DD. They're 18 and 19 now - nice that they've got each other to go out and about with at times - although I think DS sometimes wishes he hadn't!! Grin

One question, sorry if I'm being an eejit and getting my maths wrong, but are you sure that next January is eight months away? It's only February now... surely if you were going to be due in January 2013 then you wouldn't be pregnant yet... you probably have an Autumn 2012 baby, surely?

Anyway, I'm expecting my first so not much use on the parenting two situation, but my little brother and sister were almost 12 months apart and it didn't stop my mum from having another a bit later, so it couldn't have been all bad. :)

Congrats.
I have 19 mths between DC1 and DC2 then 14 mths between DC2 And DC3 so had 3 under 3 then a 3 year gap between DC3 nad DC4 to be honest I would have ahd DC4 sooner as I like them close, it was great not being out of the baby stage with the older 3 and being able to do activities that they could all enjoy.

Ill get back to you when we hit the teenage years though I think that will be painful without a gap.

I really fing DC4 the hardest gap to deal with - it's sterting all over again luckily they ahve been really good babies but DC4 is coming into her own now!

Timely resurrection of this thread I'm 9 weeks with DC2 and will have a 16-17 month gap! Really glad to hear the positives Smile
