I'm looking at treating myself to a luxurious mousturiser/body creme to start using now (10 weeks) that will, not necessarily stop stretch marks as I know thats probably not possible, but to help my skin stretch gently (and of course give me something to pamper myself with Wink
Any tried and tested or been recommended?

Bio-oil is always good and also I have got a mum to be set from sanctuary which is brilliant with ..collagen boosting butter, stretch mark oil, bath salts and shower oil..all which smell amazing!

I am using Creme de la Mer body cream, which though extortionately priced is absolutely amazing.

I am lucky enough to have a relative working at a concession in John Lewis who gets me 50% off so I have stocked up on the 300ml tubs of body cream and the face moisturiser. My skin has never been as soft.

Clarins Huile Tonic Body Treatment Oil - it's nicer than Bio-oil, which stinks!!!!

Quenelle · 20/05/2011 12:02

Make sure you smell it before you buy. I bought two large bottles of Bio Oil and then found out that the smell made me want to throw up. I also hated the smell of Ponds Cocoa Butter.

And when DH used Vaseline Intensive Care moisturiser I had to leave the room.

Funnily enough, it was only the really intensely perfumed creams that I could stand when I was pregnant. I liked Champneys.

Bio Oil brought me out in an eczema rash! My step mum told me to just use olive oil so I am. Much cheaper too :)

I have some cowshed stretch mark oil which doesn't really smell of anything and feels really nice. I combine that with whatever flavour body shop body butter is on offer...on the days when I am not fake tanning Blush

A friend bought me some gorgeous Mama Mio Tummy Rub which smells delicious and sinks in fabulously. If you want something more budget, I have also loved the Body Shop's Cocoa Butter body lotion which is almost as good.

Neal's Yard Mother-To-Be kit has lovely stuff in it, highly recommended. Sanctuary stuff is also great.

I've used Clarins Stretch Mark Control lotion all the way through my pregnancy, it's lovely and actually doesn't smell of anything!

Another vote for Clarins Huile Tonic body treatment oil. Gorgeous.

MissCKitty · 20/05/2011 17:18

Vaseline cocoa butter body oil moisturiser was gorgeous if a little messy. And I got a Roc stretchmark improver on ebay which I use whilest pg and am still using now. Its really light and quickly absorbed so great to use in the morning Smile

nicolamumof3 · 20/05/2011 18:26

love bio oil and am virtually stretchmark free at 35y and 32w with dc4.

the sanctuary stuff is lovely too.

apricotears · 20/05/2011 21:49

My sense of smell must be all out of whack, because I am loving the smell of Bio-Oil! lol.

sazzermol · 21/05/2011 20:32

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions! I've stocked up on the cowshed oil, the sanctuary body butter, and a trial pack of the whole range of Mamamio stuff. Also just found the Roc oil spray too - tee hee h
DH shouldn't leave me alone all day to watch rugby in Cardiff, he's not gonna know what's hit him tomorrow with all this lovely gunk to rub in for me (grin)
