Head engaged early

I'm 34+4 and the baby's head has started to engage, which the midwife confirmed today. I'm pretty sure it happened last week as one day my breathing got a lot easier and my SPD worse! So at about 33+3. Has anyone else's baby engaged this early? Did they move back out? Did your baby come early?

Hiya

Yes I was engaged from about your time too (33 weeks if I remember) and my DD was born at 38+6.

Good luck and many congratulations when it happens!

DD was fixed and engaged from 31 weeks. She was born at 38+6.

Means nothing in terms of when the baby will come.

Thanks. Coincidence that you both delivered at 38+6. As long as I make it over 38 so I can have a home birth, I'll be happy!

hi, my baby's head engaged at 32 weeks. then i did yoga under instruction of a moron teacher who made me do headstand and shoulder stand, and the baby became unengaged and turned into a posterior position... i was utterly devastated... spent an inordinate amount of time doing various excercises to turn him back and get the head back engaged.. happened by 35 weeks... now almost 41 weeks and he still too comfy down there with the head still engaged..

i wouldn't worrry that the head is engaged at your term. it is a good sign, just make sure the baby stays that way. swimming breasstroke is very good. good luck

Ds's head engaged at 32 weeks, SPD got lots worse every time he got further in. He was eventually evicted by Csection at 43 weeks... And there was me thinking he'd be early....

DD was fully engaged at 34 weeks, born at 41 weeks! Just means they're ready for the off, not that they'll actually get moving. If they're in a good position when labour sets off, your labour should be easier (or so I've heard, and was true for me).
