hi my 1st child was a cesarean as my dialation was only 5cm even after 15hrs of labour. now i am expecting my 2nd one. i want to know weather it is fine to try for normal birth this time round?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes mommytobe it os ok to try, i ad a c-section with my first baby and when pregnant with my second i went to see my consultant and he said ok you'l have to have another c-section this time round, i was so dissapointed as i wanted a natural birth and about 6 weeks after ds2 was born, i was told by my GP and many other health professionals that he was VERY wrong and i could have had a natural birth and i should have been given the chance.
You should be allowed to try for a vaginal delivery sometimes called a 'trial of labour' i think, try www.vbac.org.uk

I had emergency c-section with my first baby and two years later had a normal birth with my second. Had to be cut slightly but still much better than c-section recovery.

Another vbac success here. I also got to about 5cm first time round after a long, induced labour and ended with a cs. Last year pushed ds out after a very straight forward 13 hour labour. It is NOT best practice to advise women with a previous cs to have another cs (unless there is a medical reason for doing so) - the WHO, amongst others, is quite clear on this. Good luck.
