DSS is 5 years older than DS, DS will be 5.5 years older than DB, it's been nice to read other's inputs.

So far DSS is pleased to be a big brother DS is pleased he's got a big brother & also a baby brother on the way and the baby's jsut going to have to fight for his place as the older two are rough & tumble boys so I can see them both leading him astray, teaching him bad habits & generally getting messy & dirty - figure it will be good fun.

would prefer about 2-3 years thou between this DB and the next one.

must say i'm quite pleased that ds had all of my attention for his baby years, and he's developed into a lovely boy, only hope the baby has as much attention - that's the only prob I can forsee atm.

Not the same but I have found that dd1 and ds2 get on well (8 year gap) and ds1 and dd2 get on (3.5 year gap)

dd1 and ds1 (21mth gap) fight relentlessly...

10 years between my 2 girls. I love it, but it is like starting over. My eldest is amazing with her wee sister who adores her.

i have a ds of 16 and a dd of 10, i find it to be a really nice age gap Smile

i have a sister 10 years older than me and we are VERY close, my brother is 2 years older than her and they hardly speak. i am close to him though, so there is more to a relationship than age difference Smile

my sister had children young, so her dd is 24 (only 10 years younger than me) and pregnant with her first dc. my brother, despite being 12 years older than me, had children late in life so his girls are 5 & 1.

i also have a friend with a dd of 17, who is recently married (her previous dp died very suddenly) and expecting a baby. i am SO happy for her, and don't see the sibling age gap as an issue!

congrats on dc3, i am sure the family dynamics will be fine Smile

My DD1 is 12 just three months after this bump is due...just the way it worked out

Ds1 is 17
Ds2 is 14
Dd is 8

They all get on really well. Dd in particular adore ds1 who walks her to school and often babysits.
He is going to uni soon though and she is really going to miss him.

But they all love each it her and get on well.

There's 2 years between me and my first brother, eight years between me and the second, and 19 years between me and the third. We all get on fine. Us eldest three have lots of shared memories of growing up together which DB3 doesn't necessarily share but even though he didn't grow up alongside us we still have lots in common and lots of memories together. Age gaps aren't really a big deal I think.
