Anyone used a Hoppop Pilo changing mat?

Hi, I am thinking about getting a Hoppop Pilo changing mat mainly because it looks so nice but it comes with a hefty price tag (best price I could find is £53). Is it worth it? Up to what age could it be used? I'm a first time mum, due in 10 days so any advice much appreciated!

Don't buy it. Seriously. In a couple of weeks everything you own will be convered in poo. Buy a cheap one from Boots or something and save the money for chocolate.

Have googled. £53? Seriously?

Ok so it is wipe clean but so is this. It has toys, well yes but at first you baby won't even be able to focus on them let alone play with them. After that you can have fun pulling faces at each other.

£53 for something that is going to get covered in wee and shit on a daily basis? I need a lie down....

This is your pregnancy brain talking. Ignore it. You do NOT need to spend over £50 on a changing mat. As Indith says, it will be covered in poo, it will have been weed on and vomited on and you will, eventually, be changing your baby on the carpet becaus eyou can no longer be arsed to carry them to wherever the mat is.

I needed to hear that! I was tossing up between the John Lewis £8 value one and the Hoppop. I thought maybe I could resell it on ebay but then maybe there isn't much of a market for used changing mats for obvious reasons....

Grin Soupy, so true about changing them on the carpet. What is the point of getting the mat when you can change them one handed without their bum even coming into contact witht he floor or mat?

Mintie we all have daft ideas when pg, the key is getting second opinion before you spend £7k on a hand carved crib or name your child Bibitty Sunshine Blue in a hormonal haze Grin
