Anyone else coming up to the last few weeks and unable to cope without an afternoon nap?

I am 37 weeks and so tired all the time, I feel like everything is such a huge challenge and really suffer without an afternoon nap. I can quite happily sleep for 3 hours during the day and then go off to bed at 9pm.

I am doing the bare minimum during the day and have to build myself up to doing the school run. I need to go and clean the bathroom but am putting it off as I don't have the energy.

I know some pregnant ladies work right up until their due date, and others are at home with younger children - so I would expect you to be exhausted (and am impressed also!) My DC are at school, sleep through the night, and I don't work, so I have no excuse.

I have to confess that I have been having afternoon naps since quite early in the first trimester! But then, I got made redundant just before my BFP so my routine has completely changed and I am still a bit out of sorts (or maybe I am just lazy - who knows?!)

So I too am impressed by ladies that work right up to their due date, and I anticipate I will be sleeping for approximately 20 hours a day by the time I am 37 weeks (currrently 23 weeks)!!!

I'm 35 and a half weeks and have been having a nap most days for over a month now. I do have to be careful not to sleep for to long though, or I have a bad night sleep (and need a big nap the next day, then sleep badly at night....).

To be quite honest if I could get DS to sleep right now I'd doze off to, but if he sleeps now he'll be awake til 10pm, so no snooze today .

Ladies who work pregnant have my full respect!

I am having an afternoon nap most days! It's 5 days to my EDD and I worked up until three weeks ago in a pretty pressurised job. I was amazed at how quickly I settled into the routine once I finished work- late rising, a little bit of cooking/housework, nap, eating, TV, nap spend time with DH when he gets back from work and off to bed again by 10pm :)...I think it's just the body's way of getting some rest in before the routine is completely wrecked!

I'm 30 weeks and will continue working (teaching) until 38 weeks (if i can manage it!)... could do with a nap most afternoons but generally I still have work to do into the evening so just try and get an early night in and I seem to be surviving (just about!) on that at the moment. Am dreading the coming weeks though...

I have taken to picking the DC up from school and suggesting we have a treat and watch a dvd in bed Blush I curl up in the bottom bunk and they sit on the top with a chocolate bar and a drink watching a film whilst I have a nap. They are 9 and 7 though occassionally check to see whether my eyes are open Grin

i'm 37 weeks and having a nap in the afternoons. i think it's because my sleep at night isn't brilliant. have also noticed this week not much energy especially in the afternoons.

34 weeks and I've been napping since the very start! I do have a 21 month old daughter, so I nap when she does. (So glad she still naps!)

33 weeks and would joyfully nap (esp as most nights are disrupted by one of my two toddlers). My mum is coming to stay from 2 weeks before the birth, to be on hand for the children when it happens. My plan for that 2 weeks is to have a nap EVERY afternoon. The baby had better not be early!
