Going to?

I have my 20 weeks scan in about 2 weeks and hoping they will tell me the sex so what are you having?

....I have a feeling mine is another girl but then I should'nt go on instinct because I thought DD was a boy until the scan!!

Just be aware ladies....they were pretty sure at the time that DD1 was a boy, my mum downright refused to believe the scan - and swore blind she was a girl, don't you just hate it when your mum is right :)

Borisneedsahaircut · 18/05/2011 18:45

lol Evie - Oops! I know it happens, but I thought it was less likely if they said it was a boy.

Well I have already planned the nautical themed nursery if its a boy and the pink country look if its a girl.

I cant wait to make my own letters for their name. Its one of the most exciting things, to design and make a cosy little nursery ready for baby. I love interior design. I love babies. The whole thing is just too exciting!

And I am shameless about the whole thing too Grin

Coco - thats a good idea! its also something to keep you occupied in those last weeks when you have nothing else to do. I got really bored last time at the end.

I want to find out the sex I think, but DH does not, so we wont. It is my 2nd baby so not as fussed about the surprise thing.

I have a feeling that it is a girl, but who can say, scan in 2 weeks!

congratulations to all of us.
coco your nautical theme sounds great, I love pirate/nautical stuff, they have the nicest Pirate PJs in Marks and Spencers for toddler boys at the moment.

DC2 due 5th October - got my scan tomorrow. Not finding out the sex - didn't with dd either and found it really helped me in the last parts of labour as I was desperate to know if boy or girl.

I always thought i'd want a boy 2nd time so we had 'one of each' but now I'm actually pregnant strangely I have no preference.

Can't wait for tomorrow though to see 'it' again and hopefully relax once we know everything is fine Grin

I am due in October and found out at a gender scan that we are having our third daughter- we are over the moon.

I don't really understand the idea of 'ruining the surprise', we still had our surprise, just 20 weeks early! As someone who is having an elective section, it might have been nice to have a surprise on the day, as I'll already know her birth date. However, I decided that just meeting her and seeing her little features, and picking out similarities with her sisters will be enough incredible surprises to look forward to. Smile

I'm due on October 18th and have 2 dd's already. I didn't find out the sex during my previous 2 pregnancy and it was lovely telling everyone that we had a daughter both times. This time though - I think we're used to the female gender now so if it's a little boy - we'll still be delighted to have a healthy new little person in our family but I think I will need some time to get my head around having a boy as I'm just assuming it'll be girl! Also - my oldest daughter is desperate to know - she is only 4 - so I want to prepare her. I'm also just being completely practical this time around. Do I get rid of all the outgrown girls stuff that's piling up? I need to get my house in some kind of order before the baby comes as I won't have time afterwards. Saying that though - I'm realistic with the third - the only preperation I really need is to pack a bag and buy a pack of newborn nappies and some babygrows. It'll be sooooo lovely to have a new little snuggly baby in our house!

I wanted to know! In fact, had a cheeky scan at 17+4 because I couldn't wait another month for the NHS one :)

I was absolutely convinced that we were having a boy and big surprise - it's a girl!!! :) I must admit I was a bit shocked - hehehehe I don't even know why? But we are super happy! Our neighbour had a little girl a week ago and I got to see and hold her and now can't wait to meet my little one :)

I can't feel proper movements - just little flutters and "bubbles", the first time it happened early in the morning and was like bubble on the side of my abdomen - I was half asleep and started thinking "what the h....?!?" when I remembered I'm pregnant :)

Whatevertheweather "Not finding out the sex - didn't with dd either and found it really helped me in the last parts of labour as I was desperate to know if boy or girl"

This is my exact thinking too, I've never had a baby before but I'm preparing in case I need extra motivation towards the end (ever the optimist, me!). Good luck - we are due on the same day :)

cluckypoo · 21/05/2011 21:05

I found out i was having a boy at my 20 week scan this week. It's my first and there was no way i could have waited to find out the sex. This will be my first baby (although i have had 2 previous miscarriages).

I had a feeling it was a boy but wasn't really bothered what sex the baby was, i would have been happy for confirmation it was an actual baby and not just trapped wind!

Knowing the sex is helping me think of the baby as a little person and i wanted to know as much as i could about the new person inside me.

i don't feel that finding out ruin the surprised; I'm sure giving birth will be surprise enough!

Borisneedsahaircut · 21/05/2011 21:17

congrats cluckypoo ! :)

Found out this week. It's a boy which was what we thought. Also assumed that DD would be a girl and she was.

I want to know to deal with practical stuff (we'll use a lot of second hand clothes and we're moving countries a few months before hand so will have hardly anything). I just not that sentimental about it and don't see a difference in it being a surprise at 20 weeks versus 40. Then again I don't go all gooey over the heartbeat either. DH on the other hand

Borisneedsahaircut · 22/05/2011 16:29

Did you just have a feeling penguin? I have a feeling that mine is another girl but not reading into it much s I thought DD was a boy!
Congrats anyway...

thanks

I don't know how to describe it. With DD I just had always known my first would be a girl, with this one I didn't know until I was pg. However the scientist in me knows that 'guessing' right isn't statistically that improbable and as you're aware there are plenty of people who assume wrong. I didn't really tell anyone before hand (just DH and DM) as I hate being wrong.

Borisneedsahaircut · 22/05/2011 16:43

I'm having a similar pregnancy so far if that means anything - no sickness at all and having it pretty easy so maybe it is the same. Anyway I will just have to wait for another...............10 days...

PenguinArmy · 22/05/2011 16:47

It's a bit like symptom spotting isn't it Grin.

I was like well this one moves around a lot, didn't have same fatigue but there are other explanations for those things

Good luck 10 days, just have loads of stuff planned to pass the time.

Borisneedsahaircut · 22/05/2011 16:53

I'm due the 19th October, My DD's due date was the 18th October 2009 but arrived 3 days early - amazing huh!! Grin was not planned either!
