Mix and match nappies

I have gathered from previous threads that mums tend to find a brand of nappy that suits and stick with it. However I am trying to stock up before baby is born and am seeing offers on different brands all the time - do any of you buy the nappies on offer and therefore are using different brands with your baby? I have seen people say that until baby is born you will not be able to say which nappies are best for you

Are you talking about cloth or disposable?

Assuming you mean disps then I dont really think it matters particularly when they are little. I used to buy premium nappies (before I converted to cloth!) so either Huggies or Pampers depending on what was on offer and both were absolutely fine :)

You have to try lots of different brands to see what suits though, so it's a great idea to snap up offers. Personally I like the supermarket own brands - I've tried Huggies, Pampers etc when they've been on offer but they are no better, and in some cases are worse despite being a lot more expensive.

I am going to start of with disposables with a view to swapping to cloth later on.

Another question is how long do they spend in each size group and which size should I start with?

I actually started with pampers but have found that tesco's own disps are infinitely better. They fit better, absorb better and are a damn sight cheaper Grin Size all depends on the weight of baby. My DD was premmie so she was in the tiny baby size to start which went from 3lbs to 7lbs if I remember rightly. She's now 19 weeks weighs 12lbs and is in stage 2 which go from 9lb to 13lb. HTH

IF I BUY THE WRONG SIZE CAN YOU SWAP THEM AT THE STORE FOR BIGGER ONES?

Boots let me swap from size one to size 2 when DP bought the wrong ones. Tesco prob would too tbh.

I use a mixture of whatever is on offer. My least favourite is Pampers as I find they really smell weird with the tiniest drop of wee. Yuk!

Born at 6lb6oz size 1 until 5 weeks, size 2 until 11 weeks, he is 14 weeks and still in size 3 but not the new baby size 3 ones as they are smaller than say pampers active fit size 3.

I used to swap between pampers and tesco when they were in size 1 and 2 and now mainly use tesco and will do till they're potty trained.
I have swapped the sizes before always with the receipt though.

babies will always grow so maybe stock up with the follow on sizes i have at the mo size 4, 4+ and 5 hopefully no bigger want him to start using the toilet!
i aslo use store brand throughout day and just use pampers at the nite they last longer that way!
good luck in wotever you decide what works for u!

I am using sainsbury's ones, they are great, i use to use huggies they are excellent but i have been told to use sainsbury's made, i did and they are excellent, 46one for less than £6 this is size 4+, really bargain at all the time, and I am sure with young sizes will be more cheaper or more nappies inside the bag. Smile
