hi, i have my 20wk scan this week and was just wondering if you have anterior placenta if they are still able to get all the required detail from a 20wk scan that they would normally take? I'm not sure i have anterior placenta, but am not getting as much movment as i thought i would given this is my 3rd and i'm almost 20wks..

Yup, they can do the scan just fine and have ways of seeing around the placenta (and through it too I think as they can adjust the depth of the scan? Not sure on the science!).

I had anterior placenta with DS and this time too and they were able to see fine, the scan report even listed the view as "good" rather than "restricted".

I had an anterior with my last one and an anomally was spotted with no problems. And I have a low lying anterior this time and all checks were carried out and all was fine.

great thanks ladies. not even sure i have it, but it seems very common and i had a low lying placenta with my 2nd so was thinking it might be the same this time around.
