so, we just told our DD that she is going to be a big sister... she was so excited, literally jumping up and down but it a) took a long time to explain what a sister was as appose to just saying that there was going to be a baby in the house... and b) she was then CONVINCED there was a baby in her tummy. (she is 3)
she then turned to me and said, "so when are we going to tesco?" to which i replied.. "what for??" and she said, "to get the baby??"

i dont know why but i was expecting a more hallmark moment than that.. maybe kissing my tummy or something. :)

DS is 20mo and we've told him that there's a baby in Mama's tummy (complete with pointing) and that's why he can't jump up and down on it. He doesn't entirely grasp the concept because he's so young but he has a 9wk old cousin so knows what a baby is, he's overjoyed. He likes lifting my top right up, saying "baby" and "hiya" in a really high-pitched voice and then "awwww!" and a kiss or rub. The shirt lifting is cute at home but not cute in Asda. He's also convinced that Daddy has a baby and that he has one in his own tummy too (same routine as he does for my tummy) but when we asked if has a baby in them he says "no!" quite angrily, it must just be people living in our house who have them :)
