I told mine when I was 3 months as had ba morning sickness and wanted her to have plenty of time to think about a replacement for me. Made it nicer that I could talk about my scan at 12 weeks too as she asked if I minded other staff knowing and we are such a small school half had guessed anyway.

jezebelle · 15/05/2011 21:01

I told mine about 9 weeks, but i do a kinda dangerous job, well not dangerous but frontline child protection where i work with some not nice people at times.

TheFantasticFixit · 15/05/2011 21:01

I told mine very early - at about 4 weeks as I was feeling very sick and we share an office, just the two of us - rushing out every 10 mins to retch was very noticeable! It's been both a hindrence and a godsend - on the good side I've been able to go into work when i can get there as she knows what would be delaying me, but on the bad side she has acted VERY oddly since (as if she is disappointed in me!)

BeeMyBaby · 15/05/2011 21:53

last time I told at 15 weeks, this time I am going to tell at 12 as I don't want to be left to lift boxes etc (even though its not part of my job description).

apricotears · 15/05/2011 22:01

I told mine at 3 months, only to discover that my mother had told her weeks ago Shock!!!! In my mothers defence, it was unintentional... she wasn't just being difficult. BUT STILL Angry

crazyhead · 15/05/2011 22:12

9 weeks, because I had a high risk looking thing that meant lots of appointments. He was great, pleased for me and thoroughly decent

PoppysMom · 16/05/2011 05:22

7 weeks, as I wanted to make sure I would get time off work if I needed it.
Made it official in work at 11 weeks :)

madwomanintheattic · 16/05/2011 05:40

v early as i was supposed to be off to a war zone at what turned out to be 20 weeks, and obviously wouldn't have been able to go. they needed to find a suitable replacement. good thing i did tell them early though, as i couldn't fit into my uniform at 12 weeks...

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 16/05/2011 05:52

I was 18 weeks and concerned I was starting to show and didn't want them to guess.

silverangel · 16/05/2011 08:58

I told my boss at 7 weeks, after mmc last year that they knew about due to time off. Glad I told him, has meant they have been much better about me leaving on time, not getting too stressed etc. Also having twins means a LOT of appts so just easier for them to know.

Nell799 · 16/05/2011 13:28

5 weeks. I had had a MC two months earlier, which he knew about, and really didnt want to fly during the first 12 weeks because I find it extremely stressful and was getting worried about MC in the US. They were fine with it.

goodnightmoon · 16/05/2011 13:32

23 weeks. fortunately i didn't start showing until about a week later!

nunnie · 16/05/2011 13:36

Told my manager as soon as I knew, as I had to handle certain items in my job that have known risks in pregnancy.

Officially told MD with my resignation and MATB1 form at 25 weeks. Should say I didn't leave then I left at 38 weeks at the start of my maternity leave.

mashpot · 16/05/2011 14:35

I'm 14 weeks and thinking I will tell my boss in the next 2 weeks. Not looking forward to it but am now thinking I should just get it over with!

onesuzymac · 16/05/2011 14:41

7 weeks. When I got admitted and couldn't do the weekend on call Blush

Made it official from 12 weeks, the grapevine did most of the work for me

glitternanny · 16/05/2011 14:47

I told them at 7 weeks as started bleeding and went to the hospital and had 2 days off work.

theonlyhb2 · 16/05/2011 14:52

2 days after i found out (I wasn't drinking at the Xmas party, it gave it away!)

Mum2be79 · 16/05/2011 20:14

God! Last week - at 5 weeks and 5 days. I had told my friends first via FB and text (I happen to work with some of them) and my boss was NOT happy she got to find out from others. Said it was a 'professional thing'. Although, in my head I'm agreeing to disagree with her as I think it is entirely my decision who I tell, when I tell and where! I don't think she quite understood that it wasn't my fault that they decided to blab! Lol!

Some people tut that I let the cat out of the bag so early but as I said 'my decision'. Also, I'm in the job where it will look suspicious if I'm calling in 'sick' on occasions or leaving my room abruptly to go the loo - especially as I am responsible for 26 5 & 6 year olds!!!

G1nger · 16/05/2011 20:17

I'm telling mine on Thursday... I only started my job 7 weeks ago. Not looking forward to it...
