I dont understand the old fashioned names comeback at all!! Evie is quite cute though but can u imagine being called Evie or alfie at school? U might be totally tormented!

Agree with hamster - very nice names, but Alfie in particular is really popular.

I have an Evie so of course i am going to say I absolutely love it.
I thought it was quite an unusual name when I was pregnant, then it turned out 2 of us on the July 04 thread had Evie's and now I know of loads.
Still love it though and wouldn't have changed it even now.

Also like James - i liked it when i was pregnant but DP veto'd

I think it totally depends on the surname too, there are certainly some crazy names people are choosing just now! Merlin is one but think you think of the Chav names too! Iv been put off so many names with the thought of my child at school hearing their little friends call out their name in our local scottish accent!
