Just had 32week scan, all measurements over 90% percentile - anyone with any experience of this?

Just had my 32 week scan to check a large kidney measurement from the 20 week scan. The kidney is still large and baby will have to have scans when its born to see whats going on.

I can cope with this as i thougth that would be the case but my concern is that all the other measurments were off the scale!! Head Circumference & femur length are about 97% and abdominal circumference is 110%.

Hmmmmm.....i asked the sonographer if this meant i was further in my pregnancy than i thought and she said no, but we were in a waiting room full of people and i didnt want to ask any more questions, she didnt seem concerned but shes booked me in to have another scan in 3 weeks to have all the measurements properly checked again.

Anyone else had large measurements?? Maybe its just a large baby but i cant help thinking of lots of other things it could be.
Im not overweight, never have been and ive only put on 2 stone in 32 weeks. My fundal measurements are spot on (saw MW last week) and no-one has mentioned a diabetes test.

OH and i are panicking a bit Sad but cant help thinking that if somethig was wrong they wouldnt be leaving me 3 weeks before seeing me again.

Just looking for a bit of advice really, thanks x

I would say to try and just get on with things until the next scan or maybe ring MW for a chat.

One of my friends had this at around 32 weeks - they told her the baby was off the scale. She is large herself, and diabetic, and her first baby was big, so she wasn't surprised. However she has just given birth, at 40 weeks, and the baby was 7.5 lbs so completely normal size.

All of mine were off the scale and I was measured/scanned to within an inch of my life throughout all 3 pregnancies. Do as GoldenGreens says and relax. Feet up and try to write a list of all you want to ask when you go for your next scan.

Mine is measuring big too, but the ratios have been the same all along (head and abdominal). At the 13-week scan they changed my EDD to 3 days earlier due to the size. Nothing said at the 20-week scan, then I was scanned for low-lying placenta at 32 weeks, and while the sonographer didn't flag the baby's size (also 97th percentile) the junior doctor I saw afterwards insisted I have the glucose test even though I was otherwise fit and healthy with no previous signs of gestational diabetes. The test was fine, I have no GD at all, and only gained about 25lbs so far.

Now at 36 weeks I've had another scan for the placenta and the baby is still measuring big but nobody seems to care. There are lots of stories out there of inaccurate scan measurements and of big babies being born with no problem, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. From what I've heard, it's the position more than the size that determines how difficult the birth can be.

Thanks ladies, as its our first we cant help but worry and with the confirmed kidney dilation problem aswell we just felt a bit concerned.

We might go and have a private scan to check the sex (at the 20 week scan we were told the baby looked a bit more like a girl than a boy and today we were told the baby looked 'girlish') and this will give us another chance to have a look at bubs, and maybe not feel so rushed so may have the opportunity to ask questions.

Thanks again, i feel calmer x
