now 37+6 and had DS at 36 weeks so feel like it could be any time now really. Midwife said baby was 2/5ths engaged today but also that that didn't really mean much in a second baby. Got a scan tomorrow and will be keen to see what weight they estimate.
Veering between excitement and total terror (childbirth again, having 2 kids, newborn sleepless nights etc) but also quite keen to get pg over with as have been really sick and now just feel like a beached whale with swollen feet and fange and heartburn.
Been hoovering and making DH put up shelves this morning, so maybe that's a sign??? This is all new territory for me as DS came as quite (an early) shock, not used to waiting for it to happen. Will probably go overdue now Hmm

Turns out my 'final shop' yesterday was the real thing Grin

Waters went at 4.20pm, contractions started at 5.15pm and our second DS was born at 7.50pm. Wouldn't have necessarily chosen such a quick labour, but after 16 hours with DS1 it was really rather nice to not be hanging around at hospital contracting and slowly dilating for hours. I went from 7-10cm in less than five mins, which was agony, but short amounts of agony is sooo much better than long!

wow congratulations juneau sounds super fast!

Wow congratulations!! That was scarily fast! Hoping for a speeded up performance this time round too, dd took forever! Enjoy your new bundle! So...who is next?!!

argylesocks · 12/05/2011 12:16

It does happen! I had a little boy at 3:15am after lots of pain, two hours of pushing and being threatened with induction but it was totally worth it :) congrats Juneau and I'm sure your little beans will come out soon. It really was the best feeling in the world to see his little face :)

pipoca · 12/05/2011 12:18

had a slight show this morning (very slightly pink tinged dishcharge), so might not be long!

Am terribly jealous of all the ladies with their newborns, but big congratsGrin

Pipoca, I had my show this morning too, so am praying its not too long either, if I could put in a request, Monday will be fine thank you universe, time to clean my oven, and cook more soup!

Caz10 · 13/05/2011 07:42

Sigh, I seem to have been totally bypassed by the nesting instinct! The house could really do with it too!!

Any news junebugjr?!

pipoca · 13/05/2011 09:01

I'm hoping no earlier than Sunday night as it will make life a lot easier in terms of childcare. Have had some more show, but less pink, more egg white. Midwife says it could be another week yet or any time. junebugjr any twinges?

Caz10 pipoca - no news up with period and back pain during the night, but nothing serious, and no more show. How many weeks are you Caz?

I was induced last time at 10 days over, so have no clue how normal labour feels like when it gets going.

I too have my ideal days when it is 'allowed' to come, due to childcare and DP working away. The last few weeks are a killer arent they, I dont think time has ever gone so slow - ever. Wish someone could give me a date and I could then arrange everything!

Caz - I didnt have the nesting instinct last time, but have been up at 3am with this one, rearranging drawers, cooking, dragging out fridges and cleaning behind them. The cooking NEEDS to be done though, as DP cant even boil an egg, and DD1 will be living off toast and sweeties for the foreseeable future if the freezer isnt stocked with grub and I end up with a section Grin

am 38 weeks exactly today, had my show yesterday and then loads of contraction type pains in the evening, went to sleep and was woken up with a contraction but now......diddly bloody squat! im thinking about attacking my boobs with the electric pump in the hopes things may start up

Am measuring big as well so im desperately uncomftable (to the point everytime ds moves its painful) :(

Caz10 · 13/05/2011 16:10

Oh that all sounds very promising!!

I am 38+5, and not feeling anything remotely twingey! Was 3 days early with dd, that would be ok!

cowboylover · 14/05/2011 13:56

I wish I had caught the nesting instinct! I definatly have a keener eye to spot the jobs that need doing but so far have only gone on to tell DH and my now tired out mum about them!

I am now 39+6 on day 2 of BH/CTx that are every 5 mins and won't go away Hmm
Never thought I would want to be in more pain but at least that would mean I'm getting somewhere. After seeing her face and wanting to meet her so much on the scan yesterday I just want to have her here! Arg!
Trying to be rational and say that its a max of 2 weeks away now.

Would love it if she arrives before Thursday as DH has to go back to work for 6 days then and he can come home but it takes a while and I am finding myself being really clingy at the moment so a bit scared of going in without him.

pipoca · 16/05/2011 15:30
