Im new to mn but would like to meet people in the same boat. I have 3 and a half year old boy and a 2 year old girl and am 19 weeks pregnant with my last baby also a girl. I am worried about the birth as first ended in type 2/3 episiotomy(spelling?) and forceps after 24 hours second after 20 hours had her ok but tore to type 2 then had retained placenta which was manually removed! Worst pain ever! Really nervous. Anyone in similar situation?

Hi, I too had a tough birth with DS (21months). 30hr labout, forceps in theatre and retained placenta which led to a manual removal. The damage left me with a posterior and anterior prolapse I'm expecting DC2 end of November, and whilst I'm thrilled, I'm terrified of giving birth again. I've hired a private midwife this time who is also qualified in hypno birthing and I'm also going to aim for a water birth in hospital if I can, I just want the entire experience to be completely different to last time. I'm only 11+5 at the moment so I'm also putting the whole birth thing to the back of my mind for the time being :-)

Hi I will ahve three under 5, my first was born very quickly which esulted in a retained placenta which was manually removed. My 2nd was delivered by EMCS as after 3.5 hours of pushing they realised he was brow and stuck.
I have a DD who is 4 next month, and DS who is 7 months and am 20 weeks pregnant with another DD.

Hi! I have a 4.5 yr old and 2.5 yr old. I too had a manual placenta removal (umbilical cord snapped!) and agree - WORST PAIN EVER! Much worse than labour.

I'm 26w pg and will have 3 under 5 if only for a couple of weeks. First labour was induction followed by emergency c-section and MRSA infection. Second labour was VBAC but bad internal tear (from baby with superman arm), manual placenta removal and two blood transfusions.

I appear to have convinced myself that this third labour is bound to be a breeze....

Wow sounds like we ve all had a rough time. Fingers crossed we get a better time of it this time. I too have some prolapse issues which I am concerned about. How will it affect me at end of pregnancy and going thru another labour! Only had this issue since the placenta was manually removed as they were tugging so hard the cord snapped! Does this mean after this one, surgery to repair the damage?

Mine was stuck to scar tissue and I didn't have any problems after mine, so can't help on that sorry. I think it's all a guessing game sadly with labour so fingers adn legs (well maybe not legs) crossed we all get nice stress free labours this time round.

jface27 · 10/05/2011 08:15

Yeah thats true every labour is different. Im desperately hoping this time will be better than the others. But not alot I can do if not. Just get on with it. My other half seems to have no idea how the other births affected me and thinks its all a breeze even tho he was there for them and saw what happened. Men have it so easy x

I have a 3.9 year old and a 17 month old and just discovered I am pregnant. I am VERY worried about giving birth as I have have complications both times, crash csection the first time and VBAC with episiotomy the second. Both times foreceps and ventouse were used. I had a smear a couple of weeks ago and was told I may have a slight prolaps again due to the foreceps perhaps. I am just hoping I have a smooth time for once! I must say my main worry right now is what have I let myself in for with three under five! I am so tired.

Kaekae · 10/05/2011 09:32

Sorry about the spelling, typing too fast.

I know how you feel kaekae. I too am tired and worried how things will pan out when I have all 3 as other half works alot. Also worrying what to do with the other two when I go into labour as I have long labours! My son who is the oldest has glasses for being badly long sighted in one eye and is lactose intolerant so constantly got hospital appts for him so carting the 3 of them around for those is going to be interesting! Dont get me wrong I am excited and looking forward to holding her but know its going to be hard work! Hope they all get on well. Atleast im starting to feel better than I was now tho. Had bad ms and I fainted in public too! So embarrassing. Regarding your prolapse did they say if it would be a problem for you with birth or afterwards?
