I have just poas and got a positive result! We have been trying, but in a really laid-back way. I think I must be about 2 weeks pregnant. Never thought it would happen so soon! :o

Himself is out at work til early doors tomorrow morning. I am just entertaining myself by wondering how I am going to tell him the news.

Anyone got a story?

Some quality stories, thanks for sharing!

DH is already is super-decorating, hunter-gatherer, male nesting mode, and has barely made it to the sofa in about 2 months, so this is going to send him into orbit!

Am now off to work to face a day of not telling anyone. Wink

With DD1, I did the test with him in the room.

DD2 and the one due in Dec I rang him and said 'guess what?'. Both times he was with a client!

The first time I did the test early on a Sunday morning so totally jumped on him in bed when it came positive - sadly we had a MMC with this one I was having a bad day at work and had a hunch so for some reason tested on a Thursday evening 2 days before my period totally expecting a negative and ooops! there was a faint line! Hubby was away on a business trip so I texted him ;)))))

My sister lives in Canada but we contact each other regularly through skype, she called up my parents, then me and then my brother, on each phone call she sent an image named freddie, i thought oh no not another cat, but nope it was her first scan image, (soooo happy) named freddie the fetus by her dh.

We were in NY, boobs were sore and AF was nowhere to be seen. Did a test while DH watched TV in the bedroom, whilst counting to 20 for me. I emerged with the stick and said, "Umm, congratulations, I think you're going to be a daddy!" His reply was a great big bear hug Grin followed by "Geez, no more sushi then?!" (This was later followed by me wolfing down a small platter of fresh oysters at Grand Central Station Blush)

What a lovely thread, some great stories!
I did a test on the morning of our anniversary, as we had been out celebrating the night before and the wine wasn't going down as well as usual. I put the stick in an envelope and gave it to DH as a 'present'...he cried! S/he's due in 8 weeks Grin

I text him saying I was pregnant. Not very exciting.

my DH told me! I'd done the test with him there but left it in the bathroom as it started to rain and I needed to get the washing off the line! He wanted to go and look at it when we got back in and he just showed me and gave me a massive hug

I was lucky - I tested six days before his birthday and then wrapped the positive test, with a gift tag from the new baby, which he thought was from our son. He looked SO confused at unwrapping a little white stick, but was really happy when it clicked.

It was the first month we had tried and I tested while he was at the gym as I thought I was being stupid expecting it to happen first time.

I saw him walking down the road from the upstairs window and was waiting in the hallway when he walked in saying "its raining" and then "whats wrong? Why are you looking like that???"

I started rambling about feeling a bit sick and coffee tasting funny and buying a test that morning in Sainsburys to which he cut through and just went - "you're pregnant aren't you?"

I said "yes" and then he just went "brilliant"

It makes me smile thinking about it now, but if we have another I'd like to tell him in a nicer way than the hallway!! He thought the look on my face was that someone (else - we've had a lot of bad luck) had died in the family - oops! :)
