anyone take ages to get a positive result after missed period?

hi all. Just wondering if anyone was getting negative tests a few days after missed period but went on to get a positive result. Trying to be optimistic!

Yeah with ds 1 took me a week and half to get a positive result. And this pregnancy was nearly a week late before it turned positive.

af came aafter all :( 8 days late! never mind, onwards and upwards...

Having come off the pill, i had 5 really regular cycles-all 26-27 days, then this month no AF and BFN. I was 7 days late before i got even a faint positive. Now I'm calling myself 5 and a half weeks pregnant and very excited.

Can i ask RealDarkMavis, belltrick, baldricksturnip, wiiunfit, icelollycraving, clairefromsteps, cusheybutterfield, inbetweener and anybody else?! when you went for your 12 week scans were your dates adjusted to a week later?

I'm guessing that i may have just ovulated a week late, but would be interesting to know if we could have ovulated on time, but the pregnancy just took a while to get going, releasing its hormones.

chocolate, as I was on the pill my dates were skewed so I can't offer any useful advice on that one - sorry! Congratulations though! :)

Wow thanks for sharing. I am due for my period tomorrow but do not feel like I will get it. I have had some headaches, nausea, fatigue, emotional swings, and also noticed a line below my belly button that appears to be a Libra nigra that pregnant women often get later in pregnancy but I took a pregnancy test today and it is negative. 😕🙁

Hi @HopefulAngela this thread is nine years old, so most of the posters are probably getting school stuff ready for their year four children!
You’re probably best waiting to rest until after you’re late. I was weeks late before I got my BFP, now almost 16w

Hi Unexpecteditemintheshaggingae. Thank you for sharing. Good advice to just wait for missed period. It has been eye opening to hear that people have that it is not uncommon for some people to be pregnant but still have negative tests days and weeks after their missed period. I had no idea. And yes I realize the original posts are old but glad someone like yourself is still following it.

I just found this thread again! Hoping someone is still getting notifications :) I’m experiencing the same exact thing right now. AF is due tomorrow but I’ve had negatives since 10DPO. Trying to be hopeful.
