Grin

Was 2cm dialated on 27th April!! Had show for days after and constant pains.

A few days rest then last nightt I was sure I was starting up, pains were bad and coming in waves. but all died down.

Woke up at 4am and HAD to clean kitchen top to bottom.

Have been for a big walk today but just so fed up!

Am either 40+4 or 39+4 depending on who you believe.

my last 2 were born at 40 and 39+5

I just don't feel like it will happen.

Can you just reassure me that one minute you can be making dinner and 10 mins later you can be in labour??

it feels like its not gonna happen but i know it just 'starts'!!

Honestly - you wll not still be waiting for labour in 18 year time, with your offspring catapulted straight to Uni from the womb! Grin

TheOriginalFAB · 06/05/2011 17:51

I have only had 2 labours out of 3 children and both started at 9.30pm when I was getting into bed.

You have done a lot in the kitchen so take it easy for the rest of the day now.

One way or another the baby will come out Smile.

No one is pregnant forever! That thought got me through the last ten weeks with DS :)

With him I woke up in the middle of the night because I was getting bad "Braxton Hicks" contractions which soon developed into "holy crap these aren't BH, they're the real thing and what the hell are we going to do with a real live baby anyway!?" contractions. No warning or anything, just sleep one minute and labour the next.

I agree with taking it easy the rest of the day, bet your kitchen floor looks great though!

:) thanks for this, making me smile at least!

I was beginning to wonder the same thing. Am currently 40+9 with my first and haven't even had a hint of anything happening yet and am getting very impatient. Due to be induced next Wednesday but desperately hoping that it arrives naturally before then.

Good luck for when the time comes!

bringmesunshine2009 · 06/05/2011 19:36

40+4 here too. Sucks. Saw MW today. Said couldn't do sweep as didn't think health centre was appropriate setting but wouldn't send me to fvcking hospital for one. When is hospital appointment (she says for induction but frankly they will undoubtedly have a prod and send me home too) oh, next FRIDAY! A week away! that has to be a joke. My mum's birthday is on the 8th and she is harping on about how she is sure he will come out then. As if she has something to do with his birthday/time of conception errrrr. Bloody hell if that is the case I will never hear the end of it.

Super fed up. Can't do much with DS poor mite, he is bored rigid. Am size of a cow and just want to lie in bed for next week. Sodding bloody crap.

What's labour???? I thought the stork dropped baby off????

WoodysHat · 06/05/2011 19:44

It will happen eventually, I promise! With DC4 I was happily hoovering the stairs one minute, thinking (after a few days of niggles) 'oh it definitely won't happen today'. Next thing I knew, my waters went pop and DS was born an hour later Grin

The nesting is a good sign though and if nothing else, at least you'll have a nice clean house when your baby does arrive!

4pudding · 06/05/2011 19:49

That's exactly how I'm feeling! Imagining being like this in a year and people still asking me when it's due?aargh!

roundtoit · 06/05/2011 19:50

to all of you who are waiting and waiting, rest as much as you can make the most of this quiet time because before you know it you will be knee deep in nappies and sleepless nights. This time next week you will all be holding your darling babies.

harrygracejessica · 06/05/2011 19:51

I was quite happily having my pre op appointment just over 2 weeks ago for my twins to arrive via c-sec, left hospital fine and got home 25 mins later and was having full on contractions and waters went as i got in my house :) I really did go from nothing to everything very quickly lol

TotorosOcarina · 06/05/2011 20:04

woodys hat, this is my DC4 - i'd like that very much please!!

It'll be days at most. But of course you know this. Your body's waiting for a break in the drought. It's due to rain tomorrow, much nicer weather for labouring.

I was eating dinner quite happily, watching a film and chatting about crappy special effects with dh when 'pop', waters gone, labour started immediately.

TotorosOcarina · 06/05/2011 20:13

my waters have never gone, theyve always been broken at crowning by midwife!

Sympathy to all of you waiting. my dd1 was induced at 40+10 and arrived 27 hours later.
One of my closest friends is now waiting at 40+3. She looks fantastic but feels rubbish.
I am on standby to make her a massive cake once this baby appears. :)
