okay, 24 weeks over here and I know it's not very far in.
I dont feel all that great and quite unattractive lately, I have a VERY hairy belly Hmm, indigestion, a popped out belly button and a sizeable bump.
My baby is normally developed although it's limbs are a week ahead of schedule so I think it might be all legs in there!!

I know it is going to get much worse.... but how much worse?
Be honest and have a huge moan, I am sick of people pussyfooting around not tellying the gory details!

Wink

It gets worse when the head engages. You will feel as if you have had a bowling bowl inserted between your legs. For a month, if you're unlucky. :)

SuperheroYuki · 03/05/2011 21:15

Im 21 weeks and have a hairy belly too...very disturbing!

newmum001 · 03/05/2011 21:16

i'm probably not the best person to comment as i hated being pregnant but here goes, it gets very uncomfortable the bigger you get, your clothes don't fit anymore and even if they do you feel hidious in everything anyway! People you have never met see fit to comment on everything you do! It is very uncomfortable when the head engages and prepare for daily phone calls in the last month from family members to ask if you are in labour yet. Feel free to sarcastically tell them "oh sorry i had the baby two weeks ago but completely forgot to tell anyone"

It is all worth it though, being a mummy is the best thing in the world!!!

bringmesunshine2009 · 03/05/2011 21:18

HEHEH it will get better and worse. It will get worse physically but better emotionally. As in, you'll look like shite, but won't care lol.

Wait until you see what happens to your fanjo lool.

The hairy belly goes.

needanewfocus · 03/05/2011 21:19

Yes it gets much worse.

You waddle when you walk, you can't bend over to pick something up without making a "huh" sound.

Eventually, even maternity tops will fail to cover your entire belly and you'll be reduced to wearing over the bump trousers or gopping maternity dresses.

I've had 2 summer babies and it is EVIL to be heavily pregnant when it's sweltering outside.

The good news? Even after two operative deliveries I was practically cartwheeling down the corridors at how much better I felt for not being pregnant anymore. The RELIEF is incredible!

JimmyChoo17 · 03/05/2011 21:21

I wish people would stop being so god damn honest with me......the tales of sleepless nights wetting the bed, sicknes etc...and that's just supposed to be me before baby arrives!

Am 29 weeks and can see the start of stretch marks appearing, my belly aches from the weight of sleeping on side, belly did get a little hairier but that disappeared? Leaky boobs, extreme tiredness. From 28 weeks I just felt uncomfortable, restless legs and this week has seen the start of a bum intruding in my ribs.

Deep joy.

BUT loving all the movement that comes at this time.

No idea about childbirth....ignorance is bliss for now (this is my first)

Also braxton hicks were painful and very uncomfortable!!

Also...am fairly sure I waddled for the first time today.

danio7 · 03/05/2011 21:26

I have a hell of a waddle on right now and it's only 24!
loving all of the details, I prefer to be informed!

no leaky nipples yet, although it does feel like someone is stabbing them with lots of tiny needles when they get the slightest bit cold...

oooohh, I almost forgot to say, I SNEEZED TODAY AND A BIT OF WEE CAME OUT!! sexy? me? yes!? Hmm

ok, you asked Grin.

It gets way way uncomfortable, im only 4ft 11 and had dd at 9lb 4 and ds at 9lb 13 and boy did I know about it! I suffered with spd from around 25 ish weeks and couldn't drive from about 30 ish weeks.. couldn't reach the pedals Grin.

I can honestly say, towards the end I felt I was around 80 years old.! I was only 25 yrs !!!!

BUT, know what... give it a few months after the birth and you will have forgotten all about it. Looking down and your little creation makes it all worth while.. hey thats why I gave it a 2nd attempt and are now blissfully trying a 3rd time!!

newmum001 · 03/05/2011 21:34

hate to say it but the sleepless nights is a given i think. My midwife helpfully informed me (when i hadn't slept for about 3 weeks) that it was natures way of preparing me for motherhood. I just about refrained from punching her in the face. Also i got in trouble off her cause of the way my stretch marks formed (in straights lines down the centre of my stomach) apparently i was wearing tight trousers. Trust me i wouldn't have been wearing tight trousers even if i could have found any that fit me! Jogging bottoms were my trouser of choice for the last 2 months!!

Eviepoo · 03/05/2011 21:40

I'm 24+2 with DC2 and been telling all my friends the real truth as I see it. I still feel sick, after only stopping the vomiting a week or two ago. I've gained 11 inches on my waist and 1st5lbs. Leg cramps are hellish as are sore hips and numb hands. This with a constant thirst and need to p means I'm up between 3and 7 times a night. By the time i finish work i have big pudding feet. I have tons of discharge to the point of never going out without a panty liner. I'm full of mucus and snot and cough up a vile stringy yucky colours bit every morning. My skin is dry and spotty at the same time and I can't keep up with hair removal. Without constant trimming I feel like there is a small furry animal in my pants. My nails have died...they just peel now and the Braxton hicks started today.

Other than that it's great....lol I haven't and don't think I will bloom but not so long to go now I'll have a little one soon enough and I'll forget about all this crappy bit again....well I did it twice so I must have forgot. I'm just trying not to be too negative. I had a straight forward birth with DD1 so hoping for another of those.

I totally understand the fed up ness Ive been having a lot of it. Just remember it gets worst ...then a trillion times better after the birth.

JimmyChoo17 · 03/05/2011 21:48

Oh god the nasal congestion I forgot!

new mum.....? What has tight trousers got to do with the stretch marks, did she say?

Leggings have been my face clothing since 11 weeks....not good with my thighs and butt now....

wheresmytractor · 03/05/2011 22:09

Thanks eviepoo you've made me laugh - you paint quite a picture and its all true, i'm there too at the moment! I am 26 weeks with number 3, have put on 2 stone already and have an arse like a barn door, thighs like hams and already grunt every time i get have to reach down to pick something up. This will be my 2nd August baby ( I had vowed never a summer baby again - oops) and am dreading the heat, the untreatable hayfever and revolting sweaty patches that form under my melon like boobs and hammy thighs... ahh the joy Grin Plus when everyone else is in strappy tops and shorts i'll be wearing clothes that resemble a family tent.

WiiUnfit · 03/05/2011 23:16

32+1 here & currently suffering experiencing:
leaky boobs,
pelvic pain,
kicks / random feet movements in the ribcage,
hairy stomach Hmm,
an inability to do any... ahem... landscaping,
cramp-like but no actual cramp in legs & feet (trust me - so damn annoying!),
stretch marks,
back pain,
an inability to sleep on my back or front (oh how I wish I could!),
punches to the bladder / cervix / hips,
Braxton Hicks - weirdly, whenever I go shopping Hmm

But here's some nice bits I'm liking:
really strong, fast-growing nails,
strong, fast-growing hair,
baby responding to DP's voice, :)
a perfect excuse to eat cake / random-bad-for-you foods
& of course - that baby will be here soon!!!

WiiUnfit · 03/05/2011 23:17

Ohh I forgot -
heart palpitations! Shock

merryberry · 03/05/2011 23:24

having to 'sleep' upright for the last few weeks

LittleMilla · 04/05/2011 06:39

I am going to controversially say that I've found the last 5 weeks slightly easier than the previous 35 - I am now 40+8 (yes, waiting).

Really struggled when I was still working. Basically just knackered and walking around/sitting at desk really aggrivated SPD. Since ML started I've been able to have some random naps, slow down a bit etc. Also, I have found that SPD has eased as baby has dropped down. I know that this doesn't happen for everyone, but has for me.

Yes, I wet myself pretty much whenever I sneeze. Even had a dribble run down my leg the other day Blush. But it's also midly funny, because I am still a bit immature, really Hmm.

My one bit of advice would be to start yoga or pilates. I started pilates at about 20 odd weeks and found it REALLY helped me through the dark weeks - improved my posture and just helped me feel slightly normal and 'healthy'. I stopped a couple of weeks ago now, stupidly thinking LO was going to arrive, but wish i'd carried on. It's ace.

My nipples are now the size of dustbin lids, but I haven't had any random leakage. And thus far I've only got stretch marks on my boobs. Although if I suddenly spring a load on tummy now I will be MIGHTILY p*ssed off. Oh, other gripe about ham-like thighs is that they chafe whenever I'm wearing a dress. So leggings really are your best friend. And don't get too darked out when you grow out of maternity clothes - bloody scary, but feck on you can do really.

Hopped on scales over weekend after avoiding for a while. Put on 2.5 stone. Prob explains why it's ruddy hard to turn over in bed - although my silky PJs were the best investment ever...just sssssssssslide around Grin.

Eviepoo · 04/05/2011 17:59

Silky pj's......now that's a good idea LittleMilla

vj32 · 04/05/2011 18:17

I've felt better since about 32 weeks. (Now 39 weeks)

Before that had serious indigestion/sickness on and off for most of pregnancy.

Since 32 weeks, I have just been getting bigger and bigger. Waddle everywhere. Can hardly do anything now. I get tired walking any distance, wake up about twice a night to go to the toilet. About once a week I spend 3 or 4 hours awake in the middle of the night just not able to sleep. My feet swelled up in the hot weather. But all this is manageable. Much better than earlier on when I felt sick all of the time. 24-30 weeks was the worst.

juneau · 04/05/2011 18:23

I'm 38 weeks and I feel great. Yes, I have a big belly like a watermelon, but apart from that I've got plenty of energy and I haven't gained a lot of weight elsewhere. No hairy belly either, but everyone is different. The best indicator I've found is to ask your mother how she found pregnancy, whether she gained much, where she gained it, how quickly she lost it, etc. I've been very like my own mother both times.

JimmyChoo17 · 04/05/2011 20:28

Stretch marks appeared today.

Can deal with all the other stuff but not the scars from these horrid things!!
I knew it was going too well on the skin front. I have never bloomed with great nails and hair tho.

:-(
