Baby breech at 35.2 - what are chances of turning?

Saw the m/w today and she was sure the baby was breech but said that at this stage they can turn around daily so it's not anything to worry about. This is dc2 - first one was always head down and I'm not completely convinced the m/w wasn't just saying that this one will probably turn to keep me calm! Has anyone else had this and did the baby turn by itself? It's a very active baby but have to say I haven't noticed any full scale somersaults.

my midwife was 'sure' baby was head down at 35 weeks, i was send to consultant who couldn't tell 100% so i was scanned and he was head down.

She may have been wrong! I know 2 other people told the same who, when scanned, babies were ceph.

Mine flipped head down to breech at 38 weeks last week! There's always time..

Thankfully I was having an ELCS or I'd have been gutted.

Mine was breech at 27 weeks. I did a lot of yogic inversions (headstands, shoulderstands). However, you should do these only if you have low blood pressure and are comfortable... You can do gentle flips in the water if you have access to a pool. My baby eventually turned and by 32 weeks was in a perfect LOA position.... Then at 34 weeks, he turned to a posterior position and I was on all fours for 2+ weeks, and he turned to a normal position again... Now 38 weeks and he just turned posterior again (!!), and I am devastated as the further along you are the more difficult it is to turn them as there is less room for them to move... Before you do anything, you must be sure the baby is breech. Can you press them for a scan (that's the only way to know for sure)? You do not want to be doing inversions if the baby is in LOA or ROA position as these could do more harm than good... Hope all goes well for you!

Yes have scan next Monday - was booked in anyway for low-lying placenta. My first baby turned posterior during labour! all the way through pregnancy I was told he was in a perfect position and I was religiously doing all my OFP. So have been a bit sceptical of this the second time round. The m/w recommended a ginger paste on the outside of my little toe nail! Sounds completely bonkers to me, anyone tried this?

I have had two breech births. The first (1988) was undiagnosed (the GP said, after feeling my bump for ages, 'It's fine. Sometimes their bottoms feel like their heads - yeah, he'd got it wrong). The birth (no interventions) was fine. The second breech (1994) was diagnosed and the obstetrician asked me if I wanted a C section but I refused. That birth was fine also. The babies were 6.5 and 7 lbs (sorry, too old for kilos). These days it seems common for mothers with breech presentations to be given C sections or are they not really offered a choice? Good luck Nights, keep us posted on how it goes.
