So...like it says I'm 21 weeks +2 and for the past week or so after I've walked briskly for 10 mins or so I get a pain either in one or both sides of my lower tummy, kind of at either side of the bottom of my bump..if you get what I mean! Same pain when I've been having sex in the missionary position for a while...anyone got any ideas??

First baby and it's all very bewildering for me, please reply!!

My guess that it's stretching ligaments/muscles - I remember getting lots of that sort of thing, especially when your bump really starts to grow! Could also be mild SPD/pelvic girdle pain, although that tends to be lower and more in the joints/bones (at least it's like that for me).

Don't worry too much about it (easier said than done, I know!), but mention it to your midwife when you see her next time. If you find it stresses you too much, I'd give your midwife a ring anyway, they will not hold it against you! Better be safe than sorry.

Hope that helps, good luck!

I had the same experience with the walking from 17 weeks, and I am sorry to tell you it got worse. I had to do a lot of walking though because at the time I didn't drive. I also ended up with painful hip joints.

I would suggest you do mention it to GP or midwife as I now realise I probably had SPD or pelvic girdle pain. I didn't mention it as I thought it wasn't 'bad' enough, but now, knowing more women who have been pregnant, I realise it was quite bad and I should have spoken to GP.

Thanks for the tip! I am having pain in my hips, clicking in and out of jointl - I thought they were unrelated. Will chat to my GP - pregnancy's a ball isn't it!
