Slapped Cheek disease - what would you do?

I am 19 weeks pregnant; dd2 (age 3) has classic symptoms of slapped cheek disease. From what I can understand, by the time the rash appears, the contagious period has passed but I know there are risks for pregnant women. Having had a missed miscarriage at 18 weeks last July, I'm managing my paranoia pretty well but would appreciate any advice re what to do from here; thank you!

Hi, check with your parents if you can if you had it as a child. If they're unsure, get in touch with your GP and get them to do a blood test to check if you are immune, most people will have had slappd cheek as a kid so won't be a problem. Chances are you won't have any problems but the worry is awful, had the same thing when pregnant with DS2.

Go to your GP and get yourself tested. That's what I did. If you do get it during pregnancy, I think there are things the doctors can do to help.

Poor you, I was exposed when pg with my ds2. I had 2 blood tests - the first showed I had no immunity to the disease, so I had to have another a few weeks later to see if I'd made any antibodies in the meantime. Luckily I hadn't, so either I didn't catch it or the child in question didn't actually have slapped cheek. My understanding was that if the second test had shown antibodies then I would have had extra scans to check for problems with the baby. Fingers crossed for you.
