'Morning Sickness' has suddenly got much worse!?

I've had nausea from week 3, regularly in the morning and then again at 4pm. But since saturday (7 weeks and 2 days) I've felt dreadful.
Still not actually being sick (but hovering near loo just in case) so I know I'm more fortunate than many, but why the sudden increase. Feeling sick all the time (I even dreamt about being force fed liver and being sick! Shock.
Any ideas why it would have got worse suddenly?

mine did too about that time, then got slightly better around 10-14, then worse for week 15 and completely better by 16. Felt VERY sorry for myself until week 16 i can tell you.

oh happytree, that sounds really hard. Unfortunately it's also completely normal. My ms also got gradually worse from when I found out I was pregnant until I couldn't move my head in bed without feeling rough. I spent an entire month in bed, not being sick but feeling horrible 24/7, then it gradually got better until it was gone (by week 13). I would recommend keeping food by the bed and having a mouthful every hour or so to keep your stomach from going empty, which actually makes you feel worse.

From what I've read, the increase in feeling/being sick is because your body is single-handedly growing your baby whilst still in the process of building the placenta and your hormone levels are going crazy. From around week 12, the placenta is fully grown and becomes your baby's lifeline and so your body can relax and focus on making you uncomfortable elsewhere...

Yup, I started with a week of nausea, followed by a week of being sick once a day, followed by 8 weeks of being sick 5 times a day...

My worst week was week 8. My mum always felt worst in the weeks which corresponded to when she should have had her period, so that fitted with me with my awful week 8...

Just take it one hour at a time. Try to sip water (very small amounts) all the time. If you have to be sick, don't resist it - sometimes you can actually feel better afterwards!

Also, eat and do whatever you have to to get through this. Best advice my mum ever gave me. Meant I stopped feeling guilty about the endless packets of digestives (I've averaged 3 packages a week for the past 2 months!). Despite eating a lot of crap, I've only put on 3 pounds in 4 months.

7 weeks is when a lot of the important structural work is happening to the brain, spine, heart etc., so it makes sense that there will be more hormones so you will feel sicker.

week 8 here and mines the same, so far this morning i haven't managed to get out of bed. this is my 3rd, follows the same pattern everytime thankfully usually gone by week 15 but i know the worst is to come.

I've just got worse today, it's day 1 of week 7 for me. I had mild nausea in the afternoon for the last couple of weeks but this morning I woke up feeling rotten. Haven't actually thrown up, but very close a few times. Just had a slice of toast with marmite which really seemed to help, and a cup of lemon and ginger tea. I'm really hoping this isn't going to last for long - three hours and I've had enough...never mind three months or more! Maybe this is revenge for saying I wished I 'felt' more pregnant yesterday.

Mine got worse at week 8, before then I was just nauseous and at that point I started being sick.

I'm 11+3 today and am being sick between 2 and 5 times a day and am so nauseous the rest of the time. I'm also exhausted and haven't really been at work for the last three weeks.

I really hope you feel better soon, but don't be surprised if it goes on for a while. I can't wait until the end of the first trimester!
