Just checked out the Jack Newman site- cheers Moulesfrites - excellent - especially advice on compression

Also highly recommend the Ina May Gaskin book on BF

I think it is really interesting that we all seem to have taken different things away from the documentary. FWIW as a first time mum (to be) I found it really interesting and I took away from it (the same as whatsoever) that it will probably be tough, but if you want support there are groups out there to help. Which is something I was completely unaware of.

I thought it was pretty balanced in its message 'breast milk scientifically is best but due to a variety of reasons and circumstances not all mum can breast feed' and although it did obviously show stereotypes, what else can you expect within the space of an hour (or however long the programme was). I'm sure Cherry wouldn't try and claim it was a complete guide to the subject, but should act as good thought stimulus as to how expectant mothers might view their own feeding.

I was just glad it wasn't too preachy as that type of message really puts my back up. As someone new to the whole baby thing, the only messages I have been aware of to date are "you MUST breastfeed or you are a bad mother" and "it is so hard, really tough, it is horrible, you'll give up, you'll definitely fail" so from that perspective it was my first more balanced view into the matter.
