i know there is no scientific basis to these theories... but still i would like to hear your experiences....

first baby no sickness, no symptoms = girl
second pregnancy, bad morning sickness, feel horrible = boy??

anyone else find any correlations...
a friend told me bad skin, lots of spots = girl

what have you heard or had?

heartbeat

train - boy
galloping horse - girl

MW guessed DD was a girl from her heartbeat
DS2 sounded like a train

An actual study debunking the myth about heart rate and gender.

I was sure all through my first pregnancy that I was having a boy but just because I wanted one! Grin Even went so far as painting a bedroom blue and didn't consider any girls' names. No sickness at all, lots of tiredness and carried out in front, definitely got wider but you couldn't tell I was pregnant from behind. Family and friends insisted it was a girl but I was right!

This pregnancy has been almost exactly the same so was also convinced from the start that it was a boy. DH looked a bit spooked at the 20 week scan when a little something was quite clearly waving around on screen and he fully believes I knew through intuition. (I didn't.)

I have also been guilty of telling an equally petite colleague who was all bump that she was "definitely" having a boy. My highly qualified medical theory was firmly disproved when she had a girl.

How about darkening/thickening belly etc hair (and back!!) - something we can get with either sex or...?

Mildmanneredjanitor - genius!Hubby is determined to have a 'surprise' according to all the old wives tales I am having a boy and the chinese thing confirmed it....soooo guess I will have to wait to August to find out ;) Have thought it was a boy, but know of so many people who just knew....and of course had the opposite!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 25/04/2011 14:33

The chinese predictor says I will be having a boy. I am 17 weeks a the moment and everyone thinks I will be having a boy eventhough it is too early to use the bump/heart rate guesses.

When I was pegnant before everyone thought DD was a boy. I was convinced, never looked at girls names I was that adamant. She turned out a she. When they said to me 'ooh it's a girl' I thought no it's not put it back I was so convinced Grin

Going to try and find out with this one in a few weeks so shall see :) Going to keep it a secret for a while though to keep people guessing!
