Don't worry about the questions, they love them here. Grin I was wondering the same thing actually so I'm glad someone asked. Blush

I was worried about decreased movement at week 19 and put on Gary Numan on headphones on the tummy and it woke her up a treat.

Think I'll give birth to an Alannah Partridge

So can the baby hear if you're just playing music around the house, or do you have to direct the speakers at your belly?

Marabou · 20/04/2011 17:41

Thanks for being so supporting, this is not the first time I post something a bit unconventional on here Blush..

Yeah the baby can hear everything the same as you I think from about 25 weeks on. I'm 36 weeks now and all the sudden I started thinking where the sound "goes" when I listen to my player and if it'll echo inside.. I know it's a bit silly..

Not really that silly :) what you're saying kind of makes sense in a weird sort of way! They do say that baby can hear all your bodily movements inside, like your heart beating and other organs working away. So I can see where you're coming from with that.

I worried that the baby would pull on the cord and snap it! I was talking to a midwife about delivering the placenta and she said sometimes they have to tug on the cord to pull it out, and I asked if the cord had ever snapped while tugging, and she said yes it had. And I knew that babies sometimes pulled on the cord and I panicked that baby would snap the cord by pulling on it too much Shock but no, MWs pull much harder than a not-even-newborn baby could pull :o

I know! Glad someone else sees my "logic" too :)!

How funny, the baby pulling on the umbilical cord and snapping it was indeed the topic of one of my aforementioned "unconventional" threads on here: I was also assured that babies tend to have far less strength than grown midwives Grin!

Thanks, Marabou :) Time to start planning a baby playlist, then... its first tunes need to be good! Grin
