I was hoping for some advice on whether blankets or a sleeping bag/grobag was best for a newborn due in may?
Always used blankets with my other 2, but there wasn't really such a thing as sleeping bags then or i just didn't know of them.
Wondering if its safer to use a sleeping bag for the baby, but im pretty sure i heard on the news last year of a baby suffocating in one of them when there arms got stuck in the bag?? So really not sure...

No, thank you that is a big help!

Sleeping bags every time. Doesn't matter what the weather is, you know the baby will always be fine. No getting up in the middle of the night to cover them up again. When they are older they will also find it harder to get out of the cot.

As for muscle development. Nothing wrong with my 2 DC. One was walking at 12 months the other at 13.

I prefer blankets, because I like to co-sleep when they are tiny and I think they're easier to adjust. But if LO was going to be sleeping in a cot I'd use sleeping bags (and have). DS decided he didn't like them though which was a bit of a pain! He still refuses to sleep with anything on his feet.
