I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. Last week I felt so ill. Very very nauseous. My symptoms seem to be going less and less and I'm so scared. Not sure what to do. Any ideas? Am I being paranoid for no reason or should I worry?

It's my second pregnancy. With my first I was ill for about 16 weeks. I do still feel a bit ill, but no where near as bad as last week.......

At my 8 week midwife appointment she told me to expect my symptoms to pretty much disappear any time soon so it's normal. If you are concerned though there is no harm in phoning NHS direct or going to see the doctor just to put your mind at rest. Really hope you feel better soon!

Thanks nat. I spoke to midwife who said they wouldn't refer anywhere if no other symptoms and to try not to worry. It feels like ages until my scan and I really feel like I need more reassurance. I hated feeling sick all the time, but now I'm so worried, I want it to come back...

Shirley could you get a private scan for reassurance? If it's any comfort I had the exact same thing, except just as soon as I'd had a scan to check up on things, the symptoms came back with a vengeance....

All my symptoms disappeared overnight at about the same stage which resulted in a quick trip to the EPU for a scan because I'd had cramping the day before. All was fine and most of my symptoms gradually came back over the next week or so. Am now 38 weeks. Its impossible not to worry, but hope it all works out for you

Mine peak between 6-7 weeks then start to fade at 8 weeks and are nearly gone by 9 weeks. That's in five pregnancies - two of which were fairly late first trimester miscarriages.. it made no difference to my symptoms!

Although "they" say morning sickness/sore breasts etc start to disappear at the end of the first trimester, it's actually relatively common for that process to start as early as 8 weeks.

It is hard not to worry though so if you're really concerned, you could get a private scan. I always do, but then I have a ton of spotting/bleeding in early pregnancy too!

Thanks everyone. Booked in for private scan tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be fine and I can enjoy not feeling sick anymore. I'm sure I'm more worried about stuff with this pregnancy than I was with DS1. Fingers crossed.

Shirley, I've noticed a quite a few people saying that their morning sickness eased when they hit 9 weeks. I'm 9 weeks today, and I think it is improving. 7 weeks was the worst for me. I've noticed that I feel better when I'm well rested, if I'm tired i'm likely to be sick all day.
