Runny Eggs - chicken not human!

Dumb question I expect, but 10 years ago eggs had to be hard boiled, is this still so important?

Kids brought me eggs on toast in bed this morning and I ate them, lovely runny yolks but now I'm feeling guilty!

As long as the eggs have been lion stamped thet should be fine. Lion stamp indicates that the chickens they are from have been vaccinated against salmonella.

Yeah, there was a thread on this the other day and the majority consensus was what deemented says. People just weren't following the "no runny eggs" rule.

Oooh I LOVE dippy eggs and have eaten at least 2 or 3 a week! But i buy organic free-range from the local butchers... Don't think I'd risk battery eggs, to be honest. I'm 35+ weeks, by the way.

Thank you all for the good news, I was sure there must have been a discussion and I'm happy to go with the flow Wink

I couldnt have my scrambled eggs cooked all the way like hubby... they are like rubber.

I ate runny eggs while pregnant, nothing happened but I did worry. I also drank a bottle of wine before I knew I was pregnant with both my ds. Also had minor surgery before I knew i was pregnant with ds2. Infact I have just remembered I had runny eggs everyday with ds2 as I craved them.

It's not that the eggs themselves are bad, it's the chance of salmonella. Personally I've managed to get through my whole life so far without ever falling foul of salmonella so it'd be pretty bloody bad luck to get it in the 9 months where it counted. That's my rational for everything else I technically 'should avoid' as well, such as rare steak! But I'm a non-drinker and non-smoker too so I'm not wholly irresponsible... honest!

rare steak is fine as long as the outside is cooked and it is from a good source
