I've just, foolishly I know, googled this and read some awful things about breech babies and c-section/natural delivery. Please tell me if you had one things were all fine and I've been scaring myself for no reason!

Incidentally I am 33 weeks so still time to turn, just trying to prepare/scare myself!

Hi. I had one friend who went for the manual turning at 37 but baby didn't move and so had c section, absolutely no problem. Another friend also had tried to deliver first baby naturally not knowing that the baby was breech and ended up with emergency c section after a long labour. Absolutely fine again. Try not to use the internet too much. I was petrified before my induction and it couldn't have gone better. Good luck! all will be fine.x

hi my dd was breech for the whole pregnancy so has a planned cs. It was relaxed calm and pretty wonderful all around i would have no worries about doing this again.

My DS was also breech for most of the pregnancy. They tried and ECV when I was around 37 weeks but it didn't work. Planned section, it was absolutely fine. I wouldn't worry, stay calm and you can enjoy.

PUT DOWN THE GOOGLE!!!!

I had ELCS for DD1 as breech, was one of the calmest, loveliest, happiest experiences of my life.

Bloody Google, so addictive and compulsive though isnt it Grin

Thank you ladies :) I knew I shouldn't have been reading things Grin! Obviously I have a few weeks to go before the final decision is made but I like to at least pretend that I am prepared for things!

Oh, one last question, how 'early' did you have your section?

ELCS are usually done at 39weeks or thereabouts, to lessen the chances of going into natural labour.

Had mine at 39+1. Good luck!

My first was breech extended all the way through and due to preeclampsia moved my tentative planned section forward to 8 months. So I had her at 35/36 weeks.

Great, great experience, healed well, was up and functioning normally within 12 hours, breastfeeding went without a hitch (still feeding 2-1/2 years down the line) and the scar (had her privately abroad and they told me they make an effort to do small incisions when they can), well, you can't see it.

It went so well I'm going for a planned section for this one (I also have Asherman's which raises rupture risk so first ob/gyn advised a second section) I've been told to expect it about 10-14 days before due date.

Good luck!

My baby was also breech and I had a C-section at exactly 39 weeks. Asked my Obstetrician if I could have him on the friday which would have been 38+5 and he said no as they're pretty keen to keep the baby in for as long as possible but not so long that you might go into labour.

C-section was fine, no problems except I found it hard to establish bf as I was a bit sore and couldn't move about that well. Keep up the painkillers and don't wait till you feel the pain to take your doses.

Good luck!

Thank you all, I feel much calmer about the prospect now :)

My section was done at 39 weeks and 5 days.

Had an ECV, DD wasn't budging, Was gutted to be having a section despite a traumatic birth with DS.

It was fantastic and if I ever had any more, I would be having an ELCS again without a doubt.

Good luck.
