c-section and anterior placenta

My third baby is breech at 33 weeks and although there is time for turning I wanted to start thinking about a c-section just in case! It's only just occurred to me that my placenta being at the front could cause a problem . . . . or does it not? I've had 2 natural deliveries before so really have no clue about a section.

Has anyone had one who also had an anterior placenta?

I had an anterior with my last pregnancy and he had to be delivered by EMCS didn't cause any issues.

Its not a problem, they just cut through it.

It also has to be low to affect where they cut. Not sure if it would make a difference then. I have to have my placenta position checked to make sure it isn't attatched to my scar during this pregnancy, they haven't really gone into detail about why but presume they check for a reason.

Thanks for your responses. One more thing to tick of the list of things to worry about unnecessarily!

I have an anterior placenta too. I'm currently in discussions with mw's etc about vbac or elcs. Nobody has mentioned placenta. I guess it's only an issue if it's low lying. Was also anterior with DS, I had an elcs (for other reasons) and again it wasn't ever mentioned.

I had an EMCS with DC2 and had an anterior placenta. Nobody asked about whether it was high or low, they just got on with slicing me open. I guess they figure that at most baby will deprived of oxygen for a minute, probably a lot less, if they cut through it?

I had anterior placenta and breech baby - it was never discussed with me that the placenta's position might be an issue. However I had a consultant led birth (which is standard where I live) and was scanned at nearly every antenatal appointment so he knew really well exactly where the placenta was - he also carried out the section.

My baby turned 4 times between weeks 36 and 41 (she was head down and engaged at 40 weeks, then turned again - typical - she's still a pickle!). I used moxibustion, cleaning floors and handstands in the pool to turn her successfully each time - try the spinning babies website if you want tips on turning a breech baby

Just wanted to let you know I'm another one who had an anterior placenta and ended up with an EMCS with DC1, it didn't cause any problems at all!
