Nuchal or quad test?

I have to decide today which I want because I can't have both apparently.

I have googles but can't find much comparison of the two. Is one thought to be more reliable than the other? I don't know how to decide and the MW just said to look it up before today.

Was anyone else given the choice? What did you decide?

Hiya I am unsure about the accuracy of each test but if you are likely to consider termination if the results are positive then the nuchal would be best as it's done at 12 weeks whereas the quad test is 16, so a termination would require you to gp through labour. If it's just that you want to know for preparation then it wouldn't matter when you had the test. Like I say though I have no area which test is actually "better".

Thanks mumofethan I hadn't thought of termination. I think more for preparation although having a test sooner rather than later is something to consider.

Thanks so much!

I'm having the quad test, but only because the baby wouldn't co-operate for the sonographer at the 12 week scan - she couldn't get the measurements (but she did say it was thin, so not worrying too much). I would go for the nuchal and use the quad as a back up if you need it.

Thanks Kate I have opted for the Nuchal test. Hope your quad test goes well!
