Hey ladies,

Well didn't think i would find myself back on here so dam soon.

My baby is 12 week's old Smile

Me and DH have been using condoms untill i decided which contracepion to go back on, and well had a slip up .. work the time of the month out and it was typical that it was on my ovulation date!!
Next morning i rushed to get morning after pill, first time i ever took one.

Well anywhoo i'm not due on till Tuesday, but i felt odd yesterday like i just knew (considering it wasn't long ago) and well there was a faint line.

I have since done 3 more still very faint.

Omg what am i going to do and really silly question, could it just be hormones still settling after baby???

X

Gosh- Is it really likely that the morning after pill won't have worked?? Thought they were extremely effective if taken within 24 hours?!!

No advise really, but sending you good vibes!

I really don't know, i have read up about it and it is supposed to be effective.

I seam to just fall pregnant no matter what .. dc1 i was on the pill, dc2 planned fell straigh away, fell pregnant using condoms no sign of spilts etc but it ended in mc and my baby i have now fell straight away.

I'm shocked.

I read somewhere that it can take several weeks for your hormones to settle.
I can't remember how long though.

I think the morning after pill is as effective as the pill, but as you had problems with that previously, I really don't know.

I suggest to take another test when you are due (Tuesday) and if it is still positive you can call your EPU and ask for a scan? They may not be able to see anything however.

Have you tried to see if you can have a quantitative hGC blood test over a couple of days?

I can tell you that one MNer had an MAP failure, resulting in her DS3 (this is common knowledge, I'm not breaking any confidence) so it can happen. She is another very fertile, he-only-had-to-look-at-me-funny easily pregnant lady as well so it is possible - you'll just have to wait a bit longer and get the blood test done to measure your beta HCG levels.

I am another who got pregnant after condom and morning after pill failure and know of someone else it happened to aswell. In my experience a barely there faint blue line is still a blue line!

Pootletrinket · 08/04/2011 08:40

I had a MAP failure many many years ago (after condom failure).

undermilkwood · 08/04/2011 09:19

My friend also had a MAP failure after a spilt condom / condom came of! It was her 3rd and she was in her 40s...

xkatyx · 08/04/2011 18:30

oh my goodness.

well i have d0one a couple more tests some are faint and some are just negative.

i think i will wait till tuesday and pop along to doctors and ask for a blood test.

i must admit it wouldnt be the end of the world, just a shock if i was.

My MAP failed too, though I clearly remember the pharmacist showing me a paper that showed the odds at the time :) I guess a 5%+ failure is still a chance it can happen! But to be honest even though we panicked at the time (hence taking it) it's turned out to be great :D (this is our first)

HCG levels are highest first thing in the morning, so a positive at first may show negative later in the day/late morning when you test early on in the pregnancy :) I hope you get the result you want x

hi, thank you.

well i started bleeding yesterday even after positive tests.

so god knows whats going on

I'd still go to the doc and get some tests done, tbh, just in case, just to check that everything is what it should be (primarily your HCG).
