Just wondering if anybody has ever used the above company for ordering their tens machines? I'm toying with hiring the Elle Tens, as it seems like a very good deal.

I've heard about so many rogue companies, that I don't want to order anything from one I've not heard of before checking that it's all legitimate.

Thanks in advance!

Can someone please tell me about tens machines?

Am I right in thinking that they produce a small amount of pain, so that your pain threshhold goes up, and then when labour is in full swing you're almost used to the pain?

No, they produce an electric current which feels like tingling and distracts from the pain. The current I think also interferes with the nerve signal to relieve the pain. They don-t hurt at all.

Ah, and do they help? I know they have to be positioned correctly and to be using them from early on in labour, do they help though?

I ordered mine from www.tens.co.uk, although it hasn't arrived yet..Hmm and I'm already 37 weeks?!- but the website did come recommended to me by other ladies, so I know it's genuine. Elle tens is £19.99 to hire for 6 weeks..

Malvapoeding · 07/04/2011 16:12

I ordered mine from here it was £22 for the 6 weeks but included return postage etc. The were fantastic as I ordered it late and it arrived the day DD2 was born so was returned to them 5 days later, they credited my account with £11 as I hadn't kept it that long. They also provide spare batteries!

I didn't get on with the tens but that was due to a very rapid labour and no time for it to get going.

Thanks Smile Both of these companies seem inexpensive, and offer return postage, which is always a bonus. Hope yours arrives soon, Leilababyno1.

I'm afraid I don't know how much a tens machine will help, apples82, as it is my first pregnancy, but I'm not taking any chances and will take any pain relief I can get my hands on!

I think I have definitely decided on the Elle Tens though, as it seems to get the best reviews.

Cheers guys!
