Second pregnancy and going VBAC

Hello there, i was wondering...
2nd babies are usually (i say usually as there are exceptions) faster deliveries than first. Is this true for a VBAC?
My first was elective C-section as was breach. As i didn't go into labour at all, i don't know how i'm going labour, but i wanted to know from anyone out there if having a VBAC after an elective section meant that labour is like the first time, ie fairly prolonged and pretty rotters (esp for us mid thirties ladies). Or if it is easier as the body has held to term a baby, even if it didn't labour?
thanks
LaBella

Hi Labella, you will labour as a first timer (as you haven't done it before). Any threshold for a delay in labour will be shorter due to the scar (docs will be unlikely to use synt to augment your labour if you are slow). A

My first dc was also an ELCS for breech presentation. I planned another ELCS with my second dc, but he came of his own accord at 37 weeks in an hour and a half.

Anything is possible!

Well lets hope we have a Pinkjenny situation then rather than all the horror stories i keep hearing.

Hi Labella

You're in the same position as me then - DD was ELCS for breech (she was also IUGR which meant we decided not to go for an ECV). Am currently 28 weeks with DC2 ... but feeling like a VBAC is unlikely as baby is currently breech at the moment. I know it's got plenty of time to turn... but it just feels like a repeat of last time!
Will watch replies with interest! Good luck with the VBAC!
