no FHB at 12 week scan :( (i was nearly 13wks)

i am absolutely devastated! dp and i were really really looking forward to our 12 week scan and to see our baby again. i had a bleed at 5/6wks and saw a blob with a strong heartbeat at 7/8wks, so we started to relax. went for our scan yesterday and baby had died very shortly after the scan which we saw the heartbeat. cant believe the baby had not been alive in my tummy for so long :( had an op this morning to have everything removed. anyone else had this then went on to have a healthy pregnancy/birth?

no1childminder, it's such an awful thing to go through. We also discovered our little bean had died at approx 8 wks during the 12 wk scan. It had taken us 3yrs to conceive and it was devastating. Once i had the d&c it began to get easier to process it. A year later we were in the same room having a 12 wk scan on the same date as before, the irony wasn't lot on me and ment i was in a right state! But our DD was fine. I had a healthy pregancy albeit with a couple of scares. DD is currently sitting onmy lap while I endure the 6th episode of 'Grandpa in my Pocket' today. She's 2 next month.

Having a mc, whatever the circumstances is traumatic, but please remember that there is hope around the corner. I know we are all different, but i would say that bottling any feelings - whatever they may be - isn't going to be helpful. If you're feeling mad, get cross; sad, have a good cry - but be honest with those around you.

Yes I was but again the scan showed everything ok and a strong hb then only to find a week later they was no hb. I couldnt get the connection out of my head, baby ok before scan then not after(I now know being unreasonable but at the time think you try and blame anything when you that upset) plus it didnt really tell me anything except the baby was ok at that very moment. So with ds1 I refused to hae one till 12 weeks, the hospital was not happy as I was bleeding quite a bit and really tried to get me to. I said I wanted my bloods testing instead, again they were not happy but I insisted (not normally so demanding). So they took blood every few days and thankfully my levels kept going up

Sorry to hear that. It happened to me too.Took 6 weeks to get a period after the erpc but then I got pregnant on the 2nd cycle.
