Does anyone else have cats?

We have a 2 yo and a 1yo (well when bump arrives)

A couple of people have already asked if we'll get rid of them....

NOOOOOOO!

i know we wont leave baby and them alone and OH is doing the litter and we'll get a stairgate intime so crawling bubba can't get to their food and litter

Any other thoughts...

I hae cats and my girly cat had kitties when ds was 5 months old. It's just common sense really. The cats seem to keep their distance really....

I have had a cat and 3 babies. Just be sensible - start keeping babies room closed so the cats do not go in there - they soon learn. Get a cat net for your pram so if you leave baby asleep in the pram that they do not climb on top.

Give your kitties lots of cuddles when baby is not around!

I have two cats and a 7 week old baby. They are not interested in the baby at all. They still sleep in our room and so does the baby. There has been no interaction.

I have 3 cats, dd( 7) and baby on the way. My cats are going nowhere!!!

It's so lovely when they grow up together. After Mummy and Daddy, out cat's name was DD's first word. Whenever she's upset she asks for him...

We have a 5 year old cat and DD 9 months. We started locking the cat out of our bedroom (where DD would be sleeping) about 3 months before DD was born. We always make sure the door is shut and the cat can't get in whenever DD is sleeping either in our room when she was younger or in her room now. I didn't bother with a catnet because they're not 100% secure and I felt happier locking the cat away from her when is asleep or in her pram instead.

When DD was first born I was very careful to make sure DD and the cat were never left alone together because the cat was about twice the size of DD. However I needn't really have bothered because the cat showned no interest in DD at all. Now she is bigger the cat occasionally comes over and sniffs her and lets her stroke him for (very) short periods of time.
