there is a list of what abbreviations mean in my maternity notes have you checked at all. I would think she meant engaged Are there numbers next to it as well because if i remember correctly they can be partly engaged which is recorded as a fraction say 3/5 would be just over half way there. Does that make sense? Why are you worried? Can you call the team tomorrow and ask one of the midwives what it means to be sure? If there was anything wrong they would have discussed it with you so I'd try not to worry

hi bumble, i had a look at the front and it didnt have that abbreviation i thought it ment engaged too but there where no numbers next to it does that mean head is fully engaged. if so does that mean labour is going to be early. I am not very good at not knowing when and where things are going to happen i do like to know when things are happening. I know it sounds daft even as i write it...lol

Yes 'eng' means engaged and it just means that the head is not easily movable now as its starting to go a little bit more into the pelvis. Normally its written as 4/5 or 2/5 or whatever but when I see 'eng', I think its just starting to go in, and not 'fixed' in the pelvis.

It doesnt mean that labour is anywhere near yet and at 35 weeks the head is still quite able to move in and out of the pelvis, so you can relax again:)

Good luck

no not daft chester I am a bit of a control freak myself but once you've had children you learn to go with the flow a bit more, that or go mad!!! Personally i read up on everything, do lots of research and ask lots of questions probably drive my midwife, gp etc mad but i like to know whats going on Best of luck
