Why can't I be happy-glowing-lovely pregnant woman?!!

I feel like I have to walk with my legs crossed to stop the baby falling out.

I have excruiciating back pain that is preventing me from lying down, getting up, sitting down, walking, getting dressed, etc etc.

I can't keep my eyes open.

I'm maaaasive.

Oh, and I have a 5yo (going on 1yo) constantly tantruming and being incredibly badly behaved and a 2yo that wants carrying, all the time.

You have my sympathies! I have 5 weeks left, extremely uncomfortable and if one more person exclaims that I am huge I think I might scream!

Fanilla · 28/03/2011 17:46

Oh yes, that's the killer. "I bet you've not got long to go now, you look ready to pop". Especially when I'm wrestling with DC2 and trying to locate DC1. well yes, I am ready to pop, but not in the way you think...!

Are you sleeping OK Milkybrew? I'm seem to be taking longer and longer to nod off, and waking alot more now. Sooo tired!

Milkybrew · 28/03/2011 17:51

Oh and today I had "you seem to have been pregnant for ages!" Yes I thought, 8 months, as if I hadn't noticed! The funny thing is last time I was huge, gained 4 stone, this time barely gained 1.5, so I really am not that huge! Still at least no ones asked is it twins this time round!

Fanilla · 28/03/2011 17:54

Oh, I've heard it all "it must be triplets" "it's going to be at least 6ft when it's born" and that's just the in laws! Pregnant for ages is a classic too. I know people mean well, but sometimes I just feel like screaming!

Sleep?! Haha! Getting back in practice for night feeds I guess! Takes ages to drop off, then up and down to loo, too hot, too cold, itchy tummy.... Sometimes I give up and am downstairs at 4am watching home shopping channels!

Fanilla · 28/03/2011 17:55

Will think of you when I'm up for the 46th time tonight then!

Ah bless you - I'm the same, baby back to back so really bad backache, SPD, feel like baby is about to fall out, period pain etc and thrush today - ah the joys!!! I am tiny though, so in some ways feel like I look like I'm making a big deal out of it - am v tall and carry well inside me so it looks like I'm about 5/6 months rather than 8!!!

pipoca · 28/03/2011 21:14

I feel your pain. 32 weeks and feel huge and stretched (am not huge at all, had HG...well still do but medicated..so lost weight to start with). Can't get to sleep even when I'm knackered, wake up hot, needing a wee and then wake at 5am and can't sleep then knackered all day. Have a 3 y o. Been feeling lightheaded lately and have horrible ligament pains searing across the bottom of the bump. And still 8 weeks to go......

well, DS was 4 weeks early so maybe less than 8 weeks.

trixie123 · 28/03/2011 21:46

I feel bigger this time round then at the same stage last time. Is there any chance of you getting a back massage? I had one (not a pregnancy one, just sat and rested forward onto the bed and told the girl to be quite firm and it really helped with the lower back pain I have been having (largely due to chasing round after DS1 I think.) Its just that hang on in there bit now isn't it?

Fanilla · 29/03/2011 08:03

Back massage sounds lovely... will have to get one in I think. DC2 has just started going to nursery two mornings a week so I have a bit of time for myself. So far I have managed a pedicure, nails and got my eyebrows threaded. Next is getting my hair done (first time in 7 months!!) and back massage will be next on the list! I find if I look better, I feel better (a little at least!)

The thought of getting even bigger of the next few weeks is just urgh though. I'm having massive difficulities even getting dressed (bottom half is a mission!).

I've got seven weeks to go and have a new found insomnia which just adds to the mix of it all! None of us have got long to go really - these last weeks ARE grim but it's not forever. I am infinitely jelaous of your treats fanilla - the nearest I get to a pedicure is when the cat rubs up against my feet as they lollop on the footstool. I've also had my sister going on about how I need to start doing perrineal massage and the thought of it makes me GAG. My DS is nearly seven though and he helps me put my shoes on and off, little star Grin. Chins up ladies - the clocks have changed, so Spring is our season to pop these babbies out! Hoo-blimin'ray!

greenzebra · 29/03/2011 10:16

I feel all your pain, except this is my first. Sleeping is a nightmare, I prop my self up have pillows surrounding me but still I wake up with pain shootting through my knee! Also bump ache, I roll over to get more comfy it takes forever and feels like a marathon, I breath so heavy and for so long afterwards, sounds like Ive got my DH's asthma!

Back ache is killing me at night during the day, doesnt stop untill I sit on the gym ball wish I could do everything on the gym ball, jump around like Im on a space hoppr all day!

Acid reflux has to be the worst bit for me that I complain about so much. Please stop!

I have 8 weeks to go, and Im measureing 5 weeks over. So Im huge, but I dont want to be told every 5 secs that I am. Or Im going to go into labour anyday, actually that would be nice (as long as the baby is fine) Everyone is a doctor or a midwife, even the men I work with.

Fanilla · 29/03/2011 12:32

I know wobbly - it's not long at all really, just feels like a lifetime! I'm now wondering if I can train my 5yo to do my shoes Grin

greenzebra - you are measuring 5 weeks over 40 weeks or 32 weeks? Either way, I feel for you! I'm so conscious of my breathing at the moment, My nose has been blocked for weeks so I feel like I sound like Darth Vader. What doesn't help is when I finally nod off - after tossing, turning, blowing my nose, getting a drink, going for a wee - DH wakes me to turn over as I'm snorning Angry

Yup, me too. Seven weeks to go and I'm achy, constipated, can't do my shoelaces up, bad back, keep waking in the night with cramp, needing to pee and blocked nose (had two foul colds in the past four weeks). I'm so glad this is #2 and final and I will NEVER have to do this again!

cowboylover · 29/03/2011 22:57

I am 33 weeks and feeling the same. There is a due in May tread and I have been loving the chance for us all to get excited and more improtantly moan together without feeling guilty! Come join us!

Everyone is a bloody expert when it comes to being pregnant and without work at the moment I dont have many people to vent to except DH so he is trying his best to be nice and listen with a closed year as it was.

Fanilla · 30/03/2011 09:17

Thanks cowboy - may have a lurk Smile

moogdroog · 30/03/2011 09:33

Can I join in too? 34 weeks this week and I have had enough. I'd had enough 8 months ago to be honest...
Baby is transverse, so I am flippin' uncomfortable. Not sleeping well at night, but I could sleep all day (if only I could). STILL being sick. 2 year old has turned into a hitting/kicking monster. My appearance has clearly taken on comedy value for all that lay their eyes on me (apart from the occasional look of pity from women pushing prams). Yes it's just the one baby in there. No I'm not overdue, I have 6 weeks left. DH told me I should try and put more of a brave face on it the other day! Angry

Fanilla · 30/03/2011 09:39

Oh moogdroog I hope you gave him a slap put him in his place.

Awful that you are still being sick, mine stopped at about 5 months, then back ache took over!

I have a friend on FB that went through her whole pregnancy without a wimper. No sickness, no back pain, teeny tiny bump, and looked great throughout. No fair!

She'll end up with a toddler from hell Fanilla - them's is the rules! Whereas all of us lugging our grotesquely swollen bodies about and gritting our teeth through various aches, pains and bits dropping off will have ANGELS. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself ...

This morning I have bought the ugliest yet comfiest shoes I have ever owned. They are indubitably an unsuccessful modern twist on the old lady sandal but my 28year old swollen trotters are REJOICING. I'm going to do these last seven weeks as comfortably and unstylishly as possible Grin

Chrononaut · 30/03/2011 12:11

31+5 weeks here and feeling the same! The acid reflux has got me up at all hours, not to mention the baby trying to break my ribs asoften as possible! I'm surprised they haven't broken!

The worst part is not knowing when it will happen, I mean I have a due date but hardly any baby is born on their date. Least I have the prospect of moving home to keep me busy (I.e something different to bother me) though, really am excited to meet ds when he's born :)
