Does RLT make Braxton Hicks more painful/stronger?

I've just started taking RLT capsules in my 2nd pregnancy. I didn't take them last time so I'm a bit clueless! I'm 36 weeks tomorrow so I may have left them a bit late but I'm optimistic. Anyway, within a few hours of taking the first one I had lots of quite painful Braxton Hicks. I was almost thinking they might be developing into proper contractions. Next day, the same thing happened again. I'm certain I'm not having labour contractions so I was wondering if any other women have had the same experience??

hotmama1, it seems everyone is different with this RLT lark. Sounds like you had a long one too. Ive taken 5 capsules today & so far the BH's have been ok. A friend of mine took the max dose from 28 weeks which is a bit brave, I have to say.

Here, here to positive vibes for a quick labour!

DD was 24 hours - from 4PM Thursday to 4PM Friday.

Was SO shattered at the end of it!

Didn't really notice the effect rlt had on my dd's birth. I took it from around 34 weeks and dd was born 40+1 after a 10 hr 50 min labour, with only gas & air. 2nd degree tear unfortunatly but suppose you can't have it all!!!

I did have BH's from around 26 ish weeks which were painful but don't think they were connected to the rlt.

I plan to take it with future pregnancies!!

Can't wait until we've all delivered so we can pat ourselves on the back for our swift labours!!

shhh, thats the problem with rlt, you've no way of knowing whether it would have been a longer labour without it.

KM I agree!! Thing is that there is no way I would risk not taking it..just in case ..!

I have to say.....if it doesn't have some success I'll be sooooooo p!ssed off. As I said earlier, DP's 2 kids were born really quickly so he'll think I'm just exagerating & seeking attention!!!

I had to stop taking RLT during my first pregnancy as it definitely made my BH contractions much stronger and more frequent. As soon as I stopped taking it, I don't think I really had any further BH contractions until a few days before I actually when into labour.

Good luck

thanks, milly. TBH, now that I'm nearly 37 weeks, which I know isn't technically full term, I couldn't care less....an early delivery would be great! Obviously if I was 34 wks, Id be very careful.
