Is this not a bit of a joke?! She can always go and not play! However, as you're asking, at 5 months pregnant I took my DD bowling for her 8th Birthday and someone put the bowling balls on those frames meant for kids, for me. Happy bowling...

this is no joke. last year a good friend who was a bit later than my wife came with us bowling but we cant recall whether she bowled or not! thanks anyway

well 1000's of heavily pg women have to carry their toddlers and small dc about on a daily basis...

onadietcokebreak · 25/03/2011 22:26

I bowled at 36wks pregnant.

mrsseed · 26/03/2011 05:59

I bowled but got really annoyed towards end of pregnancy as coordination
went off completely ans got really rubbish. However she doesn't want to be falling over so don't be higly competative and may be best to do a 2 handed roll from between the legs.. Its not the same as carrying a child due to forces involved swinging a heavy ball at arms length.
I would say still go but be sensible by..
Using a light ball
Being gentle-Not getting carried away and competative
In later stages roll ball don't throw.

Hope that is a sensible reply

Hi all, I'm johnny's wife.

Firstly I would like to thank mrsseeed for a thoughtful and sensible reply.

As for the rest of you and your sarcastic replies yes he may be being a little over protective and worrying needlessly but after TTC for 4 years, being told we wouldn't conceive, finally getting our BFP then having to worry through 2 threatened miscarriges and severe Hyperemesis I think it's fairly understandable.

I also think that this is exactly the place where he should be able to air his fears however unfounded without judgement. I am thankful to say this has been the case for every other thread he has started and joined so thanks to everyone who is in the MN community because they genuinely care, to the minority of you :- try putting yourself in someone elses shoes before judging them.

I hope your shitty response wasn't aimed at me.

johnnyd1 · 26/03/2011 12:00

Not at all, yours was one of the normal and sensible answers he was after, sorry if I forgot to mention you, was very angry at the time as he was really put out by some peoples reactions.

I am 36 weeks pg and probably wouldn't now and might not have when I was at your stage. Saying that, I have suffered from SPD since about 20 odd weeks and so lobbing a bowling ball would simply aggrivate my back/pelvis.

Unless you have any underlying reasons like SPD, I'd prob be the same as mrsseed.

Have fun!

thank you!!

I went at 26 weeks, no problems at all, I just made sure I used the lightest ball that I could. Just go a bit more carefully as you are more likely to injure yourself, but it won't do baby any harm!

I was rubbish but dont think that being pregnant had anything to do with it Grin

expectingno3 · 26/03/2011 17:15

johnnyd1 I'm assuming that your response was aimed at me. I don't think my post was really that offensive to warrent the response you gave, and I gave some advice like the others. There are some threads on here that are meant as a joke - I obviously hit on the wrong one. Apologies if I offended.

notnowbernard · 26/03/2011 20:25

I suspect the vitriol was aimed at me [slapped bottom emoticon]

Bit OTT but I'll let you off as you're with child

johnnyd1 · 28/03/2011 00:17

'Expecting' yes thanku but thats totally acceptable, bernard 'a bit OTT'!!!! - this is my wife we are talking about so i will ignore the ott thanks. luce went bowling and even with her HG condition and the lightest ball still stayed the night til 12 and came 2nd - brilliant and i was so proud of her as i am trying to feel her bump when she feels the 'kicks' - this is my son too. im not coming on this to brag me up but am here to not only brag my luce up but to also state that for some of you more radical pregnant ladies out there who may feel that life may get you down a bit down while youre pregnant or with HG then there is a chance that something different once in a while may help. im a bloke, i dont truly understand, but after 4 years of TTC and the miscarriage probs then im allowed to feel excited and at the same time concerned surely? im not on here to cause an argument, just to feel proud and care about my wife x
