As it says really. Discovered a bit of a shocker last night - it's huge and very uncomfortable. As I'm only 22 weeks I've got some time to go so any advice would be welcomed.

At the moment I'm trying to sit favouring that side (right side) but as I have a back problem and a tendency to develop SPD I don't really want to sit out of alignment for very long.

I foresee the next 16 weeks going very slowly...

Oh dear button Sad

I was diagnosed with them a few weeks ago, in my 4th pg. Now 33+ wks.

I had ignored them for some time and carried on darting around, as a result my GP has put me on back rest as they are HUGE (tmi...but 5 one side is 5 times bigger than the other Shock).

So painful its beyond words at times.

I have found that the following helps a little:

-For every 15 mins up, lie down for 1/2 hour-1 hour on your back or left side only.

-If the pain is unbearable, try putting a cold compress on your fanjo, the relief is short lived but WOW! And paracetamol. Make sure you tell the MW.

-Dont be upright unless you have to, the gravity doesnt help!

-Dont strain on the loo, try to keep things ahem...'soft' as the pressure will make them much worse

-Bath instead of shower

-And finally...ONLINE SHOPPING! I cant walk for more than 10 minutes before I'm in tears with the pain.

I really hope they settle for you (if its any comfort I have a pre existing veinous problem which has no doubt caused my severity).

Oh no you poor thing buttonmoon...and you too clouiseg!

I had one in my first pregnancy which my doc said was just due to the weight of baby so try and maintain a sensible weight gain if you can-I put on about 4 stone eek.

On the plus side mine disappeared after ds was born but I don't know exactly when.

I had these from 22 weeks or so, made things very difficult since being upright for more than a few hours was really uncomfortable. I dreaded how they would develop thru the pregnancy, and spending the next 17 weeks on the sofa, not easy with two other DC's.
I tried the "v2 support prenatal cradle support" It was really good, pretty uncomfortable until you get used to it and doesn't look pretty, DH thought it was hilarious, but it really helped. Meant i could carry on without that awful pressure pain you get, quite pricey but definitely worth it .Sizing comes up small though so although i'm a size 8-10, a medium was tight enough.

Incidentally they had no effect on birth and disappeared immediately after delivery.Smile HTH

I got them at 22wks in my first pg, and 14wks this time - I posted about it at the time

I got the "v2 support prenatal cradle support" (mamacorner my DH thought it was hillarious too) and it has been fantastic (sizing does come up small tho) - all the heaviness has gone & almost all of the swelling too - definitely worth the money (I am 37wks now)

I worked up the courage to look about a week after giving birth to DD & they had completely gone Grin
