It's good practice! hee hee Smile

Sorry. Seriously tho', if you're feeling well and being up early then it's not the end of the world. Maybe gradualy squeeze your going to bed time a little later each day?

At this time of year it's lovely to be up early. I have to be up at 6 everyday to get family out of the house, and once i'm on the go it's ok.

Now (half 8 for an hourish) is my time to lollup around and make up for it. Are you working oggybags?

i have never had problems sleeping, but I do now, i think constipation makes me restless (at least its in a routine, starts at 2am and ends by 8am!) plus needing a wee every 5 minutes. I am so crabby. I need at least 9 hours a night uninterrupted! Argh!

notenoughlicorice · 24/03/2011 11:33

I am 22 weeks and have had insomnia since the second month.
1-3 hours is all I can sleep in one go. If I am lucky I can get 2 of these in a night.
Lie awake and watch hubby sleep and am so jealous... sigh...

lolajane2009 · 26/03/2011 01:26

I get an hour orf two the startle awake if I try to sleep at a normal tine. I only get a decent sleep if I wait till I'm exhausted to go to sleep.

lolajane2009 · 26/03/2011 01:27

lol so tired can't spell properly

YogaMummy2B · 26/03/2011 02:59

It's 2.57 am, I have managed to see this time every night for at least 6 - 8 weeks!!!
Nuff said!!

cowboylover · 26/03/2011 03:24

I am the same! I have been trying to stay awake til I am really tired in the hope that I just go to bed and pass out but it doesnt work and as soon as I lie down I am awake!

I am 33 weeks now and never been like this before and my friends with new borns get more sleep than me.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 26/03/2011 03:26

checking in....

JeelyPiece · 26/03/2011 03:31

I consider myself lucky if I sleep through till 3am... Last night it was 1:30 Angry makes for a lot of long nights! Must be the hormones or something.

cassnstar · 26/03/2011 03:33

I can't sleep cos I'm so peed off! Have had various nights of bad sleep and was just getting a run of a couple of good nights and feeling better and now back to square one. :(

Another one here. 37 weeks and I wake at 3am and that's me for the day, every day. Husband gets home at 9pm from work and I've an older child so this means after I've eaten I'm getting a maximum of 4 hours sleep a night with no chance of napping. It's been this way for at least two weeks. Quite tired.

growing3rdbump · 26/03/2011 04:28

I'm awake!!! 33 weeks and normally sleep really well... damn!

YogaMummy2B · 26/03/2011 04:44

Hello, I'm back! Tried to get back to sleep after last post and have been lying in the dark counting sheep! Thought I'd see if anyone else had posted and could not believe there are 8 of us!
I kicked my DH out of the marital bed about 2 months ago as it was either that or be on the road to separation by now! I kept blaming him for lack of sleep, turned out was nothing to do with him, but at least my Mumsnet at 3 and 5 am does not disturb him!
Attempt no. 3 at getting a few more hours sleep coming up! Hope you ladies are having more luck than me! Tired Smile

It's truly awful. Having suffered through my pg and spent a fortune on pillows, lavender, osteopath etc. this is my advice:

  1. Go to bed later not earlier. This was the only thing that worked. I didn't get much more sleep but it was less broken. They had a documentary on the BBC on sleep and basically said the same thing.
  1. If your work are sympathetic talk to them. I went to occ health and got my hours medically reduced as I was so bad. Speak to your gp if work not great. Better to work reduced hours than be signed completely off.
  1. If you are desperate there are sleeping tablets you can take. I had Zopiclone twice during pg as I went to the Drs and sobbed. Cocodamol also has a sedative effect if you are uncomfortable.
  1. Try and restrain yourself from punching anyone who suggests a bath and a milky drink!

If you search on here there are lots of threads on pg insomnia, many of them mine!

Oh and I discovered Mn usually goes offline for about 15 mins at 3am every night!

lolajane2009 · 26/03/2011 08:33

just woke up after a few hours.... slept better once hubby went in study as I could sleep across both sides of the bed and I didnt get disturbed by snoring.

cowboylover · 27/03/2011 19:01

I found that with MN last night, I am really trying hard not to fall asleep this afternoon after getting to sleep at 6am and made myself get up at 10. My eyes are burning but I am determined this time.

If only it was as simple as having the bed to yourself or something like a bath before bed Sad

architien · 28/03/2011 05:30

Awake all night yet again. The birds are singing which I'm trying to tell myself is a lovely thing to hear. Stabbing pains, mucus and BHs what a great time it's been. Midwife is coming in a few hours now.
