confused about pregnancy test

Has anyone used the ' predictor early result' pregnancy test?
im so confused by the results i don't know what to think.
i tested with this brand that says a positive result may be read up to thirty minutes. when i first looked at the result there was no line but after ten minutes a very very faint line appeared. i tested again the following morning and again after ten minutes a faint line appeared only slightly darker than the day before.
i've been researching it and can't find a lot of information on these tests only that you shouldn't read any pregnancy test after 5 minutes and anything after that could just be an evaporation line.
has anyone had any similar experiences with these tests? i don't want to get my hopes up. done enough of that the past year. thanks x

lucychoobs · 23/03/2011 16:39

Lol. i think as long as you ain't been to the toilet for more than 3 or 4 hours it should give an accurate result. My hearts racing. keep looking out the window and pacing the hall Waitin for him to get home. im scared and excited. chill lucy chill!x

do one tonight if only to satisfy me :) I'm very impatient but I'm guessing you must be more so - I hope you get the answer you want x

lucychoobs · 23/03/2011 16:46

I will don't you worry lol. it will be a quick "Hi love how was your day?... give Me the test. GIVE ME THE GOD DAM TEST NOW!!" X

Did you tell him you want an 'early result' one... only most men, being practical and all, will pick up the cheapest (which, odds on, will also be the least sensitive!).

Good luck. It sounds promising to me Smile

dribbleface · 23/03/2011 16:53

lucychoobs - with my DS i had a very definate line, but with this pregnancy had feint lines for 4 days (yes i was obsessive), and i am most definatley pregnant.

Good luck

lucychoobs · 23/03/2011 16:53

Good point i never thought to tell him which one to get. i won't be able to get a hold of him now. saying that i think the last one he got was clear blue. hope he don't come home with a digital because i know they are Not Very sensitive. plus i want to study any lines for a while like a maniac x

lucychoobs · 23/03/2011 19:33

Have done a clear blue plus and its negative. ill never buy those predictor tests again. obviously give false hope and destroy peoples hopes. im so so gutted. but suppose its Just Not meant to be this time x

Don't be too disheartened. As I always see it, you never get a true negative until your period arrives. Maybe leave it a few days and then try with the first wee of the day (gives the most reliable result) if you still haven't got your period.

I'm sorry for your disappointment.

AnnNonMouse · 23/03/2011 19:38

:( is this early testing? If so you could re-test in a few days?
I'm sorry it's not the result you were hoping for, wish you all the luck in future months xxx

MandaHugNKiss · 23/03/2011 19:42

Sorry Sad

Whilst I don't want to give you false hope, when exactly is your period due? COuld be the cb+ isn't as sensitive. THis, coupled with the fact you didn't use first morning urine...

Like I said, not offering false hope. Just trying to establish all the facts before saying the cb+ is accurate.

G1nger · 23/03/2011 19:43

Really sorry. x

lucychoobs · 23/03/2011 19:43

Thank you. ill maybe wait a few days and try again. really thought i was pregnant to be honest. i used clear blue 7 signs of certainty. Not sure how sensitive they are x

lucychoobs · 23/03/2011 19:45

Periods have always been all over the place so its hard to tell. never followed a normal pattern. makes it so much more annoying x

HooverTheHamaBeads · 23/03/2011 19:50

How early are you testing?

When is your period due?

nunnie · 23/03/2011 19:54

If you don't have a regular cycle as such I would leave it a week and test again if your period hasn't arrived. It could just be too early for clear blue to detect.

Don't want to give you false hope, I have regular cycles and always wait till I'm late, because I know how disheartning and addictive testing can be.

LoveBeingKnockedUp · 23/03/2011 19:58

I've had two lots of faint lines that both turned out to be a pg. You might just need to retest in a few days.

mumatron · 23/03/2011 20:26

i never normally post on these threads but i was in exactly the same position as you with my last pg.

i used a predictor test and another few internet cheap strip, got very very faint lines on both, neg on first response and cb.

iirc predictor and cheapies are sensitive to 10miu and cb/fr are only 25miu.

dp couldn't even see the lines on the first few tests, the lines were sooo faint.

test again in a few days (or in the morning i your like me). good luck!

lucychoobs · 23/03/2011 20:39

Thanks mumatron and thanks everyone for your advice. ill wait few days and test again. just Not goin to think too much about it just now. Not sure i can go through this much longer. x

babylann · 23/03/2011 21:01

lucychoobs, I'm in a similar position. It's been over 2 months since my last period and I'm still having negative tests. At first, I took a test once a week, now I'm taking one every two weeks. I guess we have to ovulate at some point, so keep on trying :) Good luck, and sorry again for how disappointed you must be.

m0nkeynuts · 23/03/2011 21:53

Sorry for your disappointment :(

But it ain't over until your period comes! :)

FeralGirlCambs · 24/03/2011 08:34

Well lucy - it's morning now. Any joy?!

lucychoobs · 24/03/2011 09:21

i've done another. still negative. testin with cb. goin to go get an early kit today. Up to doctors first though. dd was up all night with terrible runs. think she deliberated. just a dead weight. one thing after the next with me x

FeralGirlCambs · 24/03/2011 09:22

Really sorry lucy - for some reason page 2 of this thread was missing when I added my post so I did not catch up on the story. So sorry for your disappointment. x

PoppysMom · 24/03/2011 09:45

Sorry Lucy, but definitely test again in a couple of days. x
