How long can I sleep on tummy safely?

I have always slept on my front, even if I try to start off on back etc, I always flip myself over.

I'm currently only 10+1, but am wondering at what point I should really try to sleep off my tummy?

I know once bump gets bigger I won't feesibly be able to, but until that point, am I ok on front? Confused

I believe you're fine until it gets too uncomfortable to manage. Your LO is well cushioned in there!

my friend slept on her front untill about 18 weeks. I didnt have that luxury, couldnt do it past about 6weeks. I think really its till its uncomfortable, but Im sure soemone will comment in a minute to tell you otherwise.

With both my pgs I found that laying in the recovery position with my top leg resting on quite a high pillow was just enough on my tummy but alleviates the pressure fully. Hope that helps.

Yeah, I think you're fine until you can't. Likewise with the thing about sleeping on your back - for ages I didn't get it, and carried on sleeping on my back anyway, thinking "why is everyone saying I'll get breathless and dizzy? I'm fine". Then, one day, I found I couldn't lay on my back without feeling breathless and dizzy. So I had to stop. My pregnancy book says not to take the advice too seriously. Yes, it's ideal if you can sleep on your left side but it's far more important that you're sleeping at all. Everything else is secondary.

I'm a belly sleeper, too. I'm thirteen weeks and find that I get little pains in my belly when I wake up. So yesterday, I went out and treated myself to two fantastic new pillows - and sleep with one thin one between my legs, cuddle up to a lovely big one, and rest my head on the third. One night along and I think that with my new set-up I can go without belly sleeping.

But yes, I think the answer is that it's about comfort/discomfort. Hence my sister explained the difficulty that she'd had sleeping on her right (her preferred side) when it's supposed to be the left. She realised she'd have to switch when she developed a trapped nerve in her leg because of it. And as I say, I've only switched because of the little belly pains that have started otherwise.

as long as your comfortable - With my other two I slept on my front all the way through (supported by cushions etc at the end) this time I've had to stop as the baby protests too much and its just not comfy!!!

I'm a belly sleeper too, but I'm finding it's my hurty boobs that are the problem when face down, not my stomach!
