Numbness in bump - anyone else had this?

Hi
I'm 25 weeks this week (hurrah!) and yesterday, I got this very tingly feeling at the top of my bump on the right side, just under my bra line. It then went numb and has been numb ever since.

I'm not TOO worried as I'm guessing that this is likely caused by the baby pressing on some nerves, and I'll ask my midwife at my next appointment on Weds, just wondered if anyone else had this or has this at all? Baby is moving like crazy, lots of kicks, somersaults etc, but should I be worried?

Thanks for the advice. xx

Yes, I got this. It's still not got 100% feeling back, and DS is nearly 3!! Mine was more in the middle at the top though, not one side.

Hiya,
Just wanted to reassure you - I had this with both my pregnancies, my bump would go numb over quite a large area. It was usually at night time and I worried I'd been sleeping on the bump and cut off blood supply, making it go numb, but my midwife was never concerned and said its just your skin stretching over your bump and there aren't enough nerve endings to cover all the expanding skin so you feel numb in areas....sorry if that doesnt make much sense!! But rest assured I had it loads during both pregs - prob starting right around 25ish weeks too when bump starts to increase in size. Its a strange feeling, but nothing to worry about, both my babies were born healthy & bang on due date. Enjoy the rest of your preg! xx

Thank you both for your replies - feeling much better and more relaxed about it now! Agree, it is a very strange feeling, but good to know that it is down to stretching etc. rather than anything serious. Hope your pregnancies go well too! xx
