Hello, Im hoping someone can reassure me about
this please. It started yesterday morning, a really heavy ache under my
belly button, feels like af cramps. It went away through the day
yesterday but came back about 7pm and has been there since, over night my boobs have started to ache too.

Is it just everything getting heavy and one of those things? Or could
it be something to worry about? Baby is moving as normal. This was a
long awaited IVF night and I was only just starting to relax, I would really appreciate some advice.

Thanks

Hi,
Im 31 weeks pregnant and have had exactly the same symptoms as you since friday night.
Friday night had cramping under my belly button and across the bottom of my bump, then it disappeared saturday morning.
Then cramping started again saturday night and on and off sunday, so i went down to the hospital and it turns out that it is perfectly normal and is just my womb stretching.
Never had this with my other 2 pregnancies, but all is well and im sure this is probably the case with you.
And my boobs have suddenly had a growth spurt in the last few days and are achy as if my milk is coming through.
I think its normal to get achy in the third trimester as this is when everything (baby, tummy, boobs) put on the most weight.
Hope this helps.xxx

Thank you both for replying, I phoned the midwife and she suggested it might be a urine infection and to see the doc. The doctor couldnt see anything unusual in my urine but felt the baby and said the head has already engaged!! She said it was very early and to take things easy and watch for signs for early labour! I guess the pains are the pressure from the baby's head being heavy down there.

really have no idea what I'm talking about as I'm only 16 weeks but could it be braxton hicks (if I'm right in saying they're like pretend contractions?)

It might just be one of those things - I'm getting aches and mild crampy feelings every now and again but apparently I'm stretching - not sure if you've got much stretching left to do at 31 weeks?

Don't know why I bothered to post I haven't been helpful in the slightest lol!
Wishing you the best anyway.

I'm 32 weeks with twins and I'm huge and in agony with my stomach as you can imagine. One of the twins was 3/5 engaged at 29 weeks so your not alone!!! When I stand up Im in agony from my belly button to my pubic bone from the sheer weight and the fact he's engaged, he's engaged further since the internal I had as I get pressure and everything but still nothing has happened lol.

jazz412 · 21/03/2011 17:21

so (stupid question alert) if their head is engaged does that not mean they're ready to pop at any minute?

shinygiraffe · 21/03/2011 17:49

Well thats what I feared at first but the midwife assured me it could still be weeks. I just have to be careful and go straight in to hospital if I get any signs of labour

:)so are you on bed rest now?

wobblyweeble82 · 21/03/2011 18:00

My DS was engaged at 32 weeks and he appeared two days before his due date so I wouldn't worry too much about it. They can stay down there for aaaaages, although you have my deepest sympathies - have you been over a speed bump or a pothole yet whilst baby's head is engaged?! Yowsers ... Resting up if you're uncomfortable is the best advice all round. Let everyone run around you for the next 9 weeks :) and good luck! :)

shinygiraffe · 21/03/2011 18:48

thank-you all.
harrygracejessica-it must be extra agony with 2 in there! take it easy.

jazz- no not on bed rest,I'm still working -nanny to 3 children! I'm going to take it as easy as possible tho and not push myself.

ww82- thanks for the reassurance. Yes speed bumps everywhere around here and agony!
