Looking for recommendatios for good pregnancy leggings. I have looked at GAP and Jo Jo Maman Bebe so far but very thin. I'd like them a bit thicker so as to hide a few more sins. Thks

NOT dorothy perkins - horribly thin, I was really disappointed.

MainlyMaynie · 20/03/2011 21:54

I am working my way through the every available pair of maternity leggings. Next are quite thick, but the elastic on the waist band is too tight and sits mid-bump. Ok for early on, but I'm finding them uncomfortable at 26 weeks. M and S quite thin, but comfortable. Best ones I've tried so far are Boden, really thick and sit high so v comfortable. Go down two sizes though - I went down one after reading the reviews, but it wasn't enough. Be great for later on though!

I have some new look ones which are surprisingly thick and stay put, but the colour is starting to fade.

I have some fab normal ones from Evans, just got a size bigger than normal (so got an 18) and am 30 weeks now. But obv no good if you are normally a 10!

H & M does a really cool 'starter' pack (Get Ready Mama!) with a long vest, leggings and bump band. Bump band is crap but vest and leggings were brilliant. Also organic cotton FWIW.

coastgirl · 20/03/2011 22:01

The Boden ones are really nice and thick. They are big though - I got them in a 6 and they're still a bit big (and I'm 19 weeks so not stick thin!)

red herring maternity at debenhams. Only £12 and lovely and thick!

jamest · 20/03/2011 22:14

Are the boden ones maternity ones or normal ones?

Maternity ones - a big expensive at £19 but you can always get money off and they are way better than even any other normal leggings I've had.

jenga079 · 20/03/2011 22:19

I like the H&M ones. They're long (right down to your ankles) and 'over bump' so they keep your tum nice and warm too Smile

Loobyloo1902 · 20/03/2011 22:31

Matalan sold me a fine pair of preggie leggings BUT they don't do them in all stores so do check before you call in.

On another note, I've just found some leisure pants in Primark for a paltry £5 which are perfect in the latter stages. They come in grey marl or black and are wide legged. Depending on how sensitive your tummy is, you can take out the scratchy labels and the elastic waistband to make them more comfy. They were in the nightwear section of Primark on Oxford street. Asos do something similar for about £15.

I have an amazing pair from George that I wear to work.

JeelyPiece · 21/03/2011 04:53

I got some decent ones online from Vertbaudet, can't remember how much but not expensive.

luluzulu · 21/03/2011 05:30

asda george- dirt cheap and do the job- ive got about 3 pairs and live in them

Jaffacake76 · 21/03/2011 06:33

Mamas and Papas are excellent quality. Yes they were £22.00 but they have lasted me since I was 13 weeks (I'm now 35 weeks). Excellent quality. Much better than the M&S ones I bought.

coastgirl · 21/03/2011 06:42

I have those Primark leisure pants as well and they are completely fab! Soooo comfy, I change into them straight away when I get home/..

wobblyweeble82 · 21/03/2011 07:41

I bought a pair from H&M's in December - I don't think I've taken them off yet Grin. They're super comfy, come over the bump, and wash really well (still nice and black, not grey and bobbly). And cheap too if I remember correctly.

Joannezipan · 21/03/2011 09:11

I got some from Heavenly Bump via Amazon and they are very comfortable and quite thick. Plus they are very high so good over the bump. Plus you can wear them a couple of times before they go saggy at the knees!

jamest · 21/03/2011 10:11

Thanks ladies for all the great ideas, off to hit the web and the shops!

H&M for lovely, comfy, over-the-bump style leggings and only £8.99!

apples82 · 21/03/2011 14:14

Can you buy from H&M online?

NewMummy5July2011 · 21/03/2011 14:23

I actually really like the New Look ones - only £9.99 a pair and they are a bit longer so cover up a bit more of the ankles!

Leilababyno1 · 21/03/2011 14:45

apples82- don't think so unfortunately, think you have to go in branch..Sad

BUT....also have a couple of pairs I bought the other day from Primark- they are not maternity but are really comfy as I bought them in a large size (normally wear a 10, but bought them in a 16 to fit bump)..and only £3 a pair! Have a pair in black and a pair in a mulberry shade.. Am 34 weeks- so find I am living in leggings at the moment as jeans/trousers are now too uncomfortable.

diyqueen · 21/03/2011 17:19

I've just been wearing normal leggings as the ones I have fit nicely under the bump (they have quite a low waistband). Once I got past 30 weeks I stopped wearing the 'over the bump' trousers I had as I found the top bit irritating and a bit tight.

beautyguru · 21/03/2011 17:29

I got some fab ones by a company called Boob, think i got them through Bump to 3 website, now known as The Grostore...they were great because they had built in bump support which really helped lift my bump and made my back ache a bit less Smile

apple99 · 21/03/2011 19:10

Mamas and Papas, they come over the bump, are lovely and thick and are full length so all round fab. At £22 though they are expensive but wash and wear very well.
